Biography
Second bone eyed slate on site, pairbonded to the first.
Amaqjuaq is a very large and thickly built wolf with a charming exterior and a cruel interior. He is known to be charismatic and enjoyable at first, but once one gets to know him it is apparent that he is a brutal and overly confident wolf. He came to lead the Nomadin after killing the previous alpha, Aklaq, in combat.
With a sickening crunch, it was over. Aklaq's lifeless body fell heavily onto the frozen ground, blood glimmering in the evening light. The intense struggle, which felt like an eternity, had swiftly concluded. Amaqjuaq had exerted himself, but it was clear that Aklaq could not have won this confrontation. As the other wolves in the vicinity dispersed, having witnessed the battle, a sense of fear filled the air. The new alpha had chosen to stay silent, understanding that fewer words would instill greater uncertainty and fear. Actions spoke louder than any verbal declaration.
A few minutes passed in silence until one brave wolf finally mustered the courage to speak.
"What should we do with the body?" They hesitated, unsure if breaking the stillness was wise. "Shall we offer it to the ravens?" Amaqjuaq watched the frightened wolves slink into the tree line, eyeing their new leader carefully. He summoned all his remaining strength, refusing to show any sign of weakness to his new underlings, muscles rippled under his dark coat and he bared his blood-stained teeth in their direction as if to warn them not to challenge him, however weak they may perceive him to be after such an intense fight.
Amaqjuaq prolonged his silence, relishing in the uncertainty emanating from the wolf who had dared to question him. Though it was customary to dispose of the weaklings' remains by feeding them to scavengers, Amaqjuaq hesitated at the thought of subjecting Aklaq to such a fate.
"No," he finally responded, his voice projecting strength and unwavering resolve. The wolf who had inquired involuntarily tucked their tail between their legs. "Burn the body." The unexpected request startled the wolf, momentarily freezing them in place. Amaqjuaq turned his piercing gaze towards them, the three deep gashes on his side speaking volumes of his ability to take the wolf down even in this state. The cowering wolf snapped out of their daze, rushing to carry out their orders in a panicked frenzy.
As they dragged the lifeless body away, Amaqjuaq cast one final glance at the fallen alpha. He grinned in satisfaction.
