Biography
Fourth Alpha of Ghul Pack and its wisest leader so far. Sulakhan vows to follow founder Alpha Yerv's creed: Manage your resources. Everyone must have permission to take a mate or have a litter so the pack does not grow too fast. Test new wolves before allowing them to enter. They must have the dreams of past lives which set us apart. Kill foxes and badgers on sight- they are schemers who report the pack's activities to enemies.
From puphood Sulakhan always wanted to understand how things worked. He discussed magic and past-life memories with Witch Ellie. He learned snake-speak from Ambassador Hraal and weather-watching from Haboob. He sniffed around human settlements and studied their habits.
Sulakhan's past-life memories show him he was once a powerful human king in the distant desert of everyone's dreams. When Alpha Nawth gave him a choice of home he picked one of the caves which showed evidence of human occupation. He collected odd things others had sniffed and walked past. When he touches them he remembers his past life more clearly, and gladly offer lectures on human behavior and the weapons they made to fight in place of their useless teeth.
Sulakhan can be a bit out of touch with pack politics, spending extra time looking for changes in human or weather activity that might impact the territory. To make up for this he relies on his advisors, the white snakes which never leave the caves. Alpha Female Tzintzún plays a bigger role than previous alpha-mates, sometimes judging males for fitness to join as well as the females. Sulakhan tolerates her vanity as long as it doesn't become disruptive.
In his third year Sulakhan spent time with neighboring packs who crossed paths more often with humans. Over time and with gentle persistence he gathered stories on deaths and injuries caused by humans. Most importantly, he learned Spring was the time they would most likely be looking for dens and trying to steal pups. This act of diplomacy helped families make changes to better hide den extreances and protect pups.
