History

Winterberry was born to Clay and Sand alongside her littermates Orange, Cloud, and Patch. Winterberry has always been the most reliable of her litter, acting as the responsible 'older sister'. Even if, technically, they were all the same age. Winterberry took her duty as the responsible pup rather seriously, swearing to always protect her siblings.

Once she reached adolescence, Winterberry made the decision to train as a Chaser. She had always been swift, and she found the idea of chasing down prey to be exhilarating. She listened carefully to the senior wolves during her training and swore to be the best chaser she could. She wouldn't let her pack down!

By the time Winterberry reached adulthood, she had become a reliable and skilled chaser. Winterberry loved her job and had a knack for it. Her hunting team trusted in her, and she trusted in them.

Winterberry was never the romantic type; she couldn't care less about having a mate or pups. However, she found herself shocked when she began to fall for Taiga, began to imagine spending the rest of her life with the wolf, having pups together. It was obvious Taiga liked Winterberry back but… Winterberry didn't want to rush into things, did she really want this? After a lot of thought, Winterberry knew that being with Taiga was all she wanted and more. She wasn't surprised when Taiga eagerly accepted her confession, though she still let out a sigh of relief non the less.

Winterberry and Taiga had been considering adopting a pup for quite a while, they just weren't sure if they were ready. When Winterberry's hunting team found a strange pup that didn't seem to be from this world, the two of them knew that this was the pup for them, that they were ready. They named her Aurora and were so happy to have her as the newest member of their family. They grew prouder each day as she grew, watching her become a chaser just like her mother.

Winterberry was heartbroken when she lost her mother. She had always been the strongest of her littermates, and she knew she needed to be there for all of them. She was glad she had Taiga, to let her know that she also needed to take time for herself to grieve.

Winterberry and Taiga had only planned to go on a stroll when they met a young pup staying with Lillemor. They spoke to the pup for a while and found themselves fond of his bossy personality. It didn't take them long to decide to adopt him, naming him Frostbite. They couldn't have been prouder of the spunky and stubborn pup, Frostbite growing to become a chaser just like his mother and sister.

It was hard losing her father, her only remaining parent. This time, she took time to grieve for herself. She was still there for her siblings of course, but she made sure to take care of herself as well. She was glad that her father had gotten to meet both of his grandpups before he passed. She hoped he would tell her mother all about Frostbite, and how big Aurora had gotten.

Losing her mate was one of the hardest things Winterberry ever had to go through. She knew she would see Taiga again soon, but it also felt so far away. For now, all she could do was try to enjoy the life she had left.

On the 7th year and 6th month of her life, Winterberry made her way to the mountains summit. Caribou, Orange, Patch, and Cloud keeping her company through most of the journey. Once at the top, looking out at the endless sky, Winterberry, Orange, Patch, and Cloud were greeted by their parents, Clay and Sand, who gently guided them to the afterlife.
