Biography
You find Regulus A antagonising a mouse. They're smushing it between their paws and when it squeaks they let it go before trapping it once again. They seem to find joy in this game.
You catch Regulus A whispering some nasty gossip to a packmate. They notice you but don't seem to care.
Regulus A offers you a gift with a fake smile and you know that it's either stolen or forcefully taken from someone else.
Regulus A: The Competitive Wolfion of the Galactic Ones
Regulus was born in the Galactic Ones pack in the winter. Her father was no ordinary wolf. He was a shapeshifter- a large white beast that looked somewhat like a mountain lion, but not quite. He had a glorious, bushy white mane and a slender tail that ended in a fluffy tuft. He was much larger than the average cougar, and definitely more bulky. His size matched that of a black bear. His icy blue eyes were quite alluring too. He went by the name of Leo, like the constellation. Regulus A's mother was a regular wolf, however. She is a respected hunter in the pack like her father, though Leo wasn't always around the pack. The mother wolf in question was named Honeycomb, the daughter of Dawning Flame. Although Regulus' father had glorious, silky fur, Regulus gained rough fur like her mother that was more densely packed. It looked a bit curly too.
Despite both of her parents being friendly and well-mannered, Regulus didn't have those same socialization skills. Instead, she was more aggressive and much more physical than she needs to be. She often boasts her talents and abilities to her hunting team and her friends, and will gladly bodyshove them out the way if they dare backtalk her or say something that upsets her. It's better to keep quiet and keep your head down when you're in the presence of Regulus A.
Growing up, Regulus was seen as an odd one in the pack. Her large size was one odd thing about her. She had rounded, fluffy ears like her father and a snout like his, but her nose was like a wolf's nose. Her tail was slim like Leo, but still had a bit of plume to it. At around six months old, that's when she really started to change in appearance. Regulus was proving to be more muscular than the average wolf, and her fur never really grew that much. It was a short coat; longer than her father's but shorter than any wolf's in the pack. Another thing was Regulus's canines starting to stick out of her mouth. They weren't the typical shape of canine fangs, nor were they like that of a feline. Her fangs were thick like a small branch, and they kept on growing straight down until she was around ten months old. There, her fangs stopped growing at a "cozy" 6 inches long.
The pack wasn't sure what to make of her transformation. By the time she was a year old, she was already twice the size of an adult male grey wolf. A lot of the pack protested they wanted her gone as her sadistic and malicious personality was an issue in the pack, but Cherry Root refused to let her go. Not even Honeycomb was sure if it was a good idea to keep her daughter around. Ultimately, Regulus got to stay in the pack. She didn't make many friends in her youth, however. Her behaviour was too vulgar for most of her packmates to handle. Too vulgar for most except for two young males who were a year older than her.
The Troublesome Trio
Despite being in different hunting parties, Regulus A began talking to two males who are a year older than her. More like one of the males approached her first and never stopped bothering her since. Regulus disliked all the males in the pack, finding them annoying. However, she tolerated the two to an extent. Who were those males? Firewood and Volcano!
Firewood was the first wolf to approach Regulus, seeking for friendship. He found her rather mysterious and endearing. Regulus, on the other hand, did not like him very much. He was a notorious playboy in the pack, and the wolfion had a feeling he was being friendly to woo her over. For the first three weeks of them talking to each other, Regulus just snarled whenever he had something to say. Her snarls sounded more like deep growls- a sound that Leo made which the pack never heard before. On the fourth week, Regulus finally decided to listen to what he had to say. His stubborness finally made her give in.
Firewood simply asked her for friendship. Regulus raised an eyebrow at him. Why is he asking me for friendship? That was something she never really understood. After all the times she growled at him for approaching, Fire continued to talk to her. She just didn't understand why. It took a day of thinking, but Regulus finally decided to accept his friendship. That summer afternoon, Firewood became the first male in the pack she could tolerate talking to.
In the late summer, Firewood introduced Regulus to a friend of his. He was a stalker in Fire's hunting team, and the best one in the pack. Unlike Regulus and Firewood, he was rather scrawny. He was a slender, timber wolf with fluffy cheeks, a fluffy rump and a poofy tail. Other than those areas, his fur was short. Regulus always thought of him as a baby. He always complained about Regulus being too competitive or being too rough when Firewood convinced the two to play-fight with him. Regulus and Volcano could barely tolerate each other's presence. Fire had to convince them to get along, but it would take a long while to do so.
At two years old in the winter, Regulus began to question her identity. Her father had told her that males of his kind grew manes, while females were maneless. Regulus began growing a small, light brown mane which stunned the pack. Her lack of interest in males made her believe she (or he) herself was a male. That day when her mane was partially grown, Regulus began to use he/him pronouns. Oddly excited by this news, Firewood helped give some tips on how to pick up ladies in the pack and surrounding packs. Regulus listened to his advice but never decided tried to use it on any females. At least not yet.
With his newfound identity, Regulus felt slightly more comfortable with the males in his pack, but still disliked them getting close to him. Not even Firewood and Volcano could safely get within 3 feet of Regulus, but Firewood would always push his luck with him which annoyed the wolfion. Of course, he never bodyslammed Fire for overstepping his boundaries, but he made sure to give him an earful of growls and roars.
By three years old, Regulus A mellowed out from his combative behaviour. Though, he is still passive aggressive to others. Now, he actually allows Firewood and Volcano to touch him. Not like Volcano actually wants to after how he used to act towards him. However, Firewood loves cuddling with Regulus whenever the temperatures drop. He claims that the wolfion was "nice and warm", and that phrase gave Regulus mixed messages. He doesn't seem to act out when Firewood cuddles him, which makes Firewood a bit more teasing towards Regulus. Eventually, Volcano started cuddling with the wolfion too. That was only because Firewood asked him to join in. Regulus always acts like he dislikes cuddling with the pair, but he secretly enjoys it.
Now, the trio are close friends with each other who don't mind telling each other secrets. They love hunting together in their free time, or chilling in an open field. They do everything together compared to when they first started talking to each other.
A New Year, A New Journey
Around two months after Regulus turned 4, he began handing out with two new wolves- she wolves to be exact. One was a scrawny, brown and green female named Plankton, and the other was a blue, brown and silver named Nyx. Plankton was the more coy and sneaky one in the trio, while Nyx rivaled Regulus in vulgarity. Nonetheless, the trio became great friends with each other, and Regulus began hanging out with them more than Firewood and Volcano. Not like his other friends minded that.
Despite Regulus, Plankton and Nyx enjoying each other's company, others did not approve of their friendship. Plankton was a sacrifice; an outsider who was forced to help raise the future generation of the pack, only to be killed once her usefulness had run out. Who was the pack sacrificing wolves to? Regulus didn't learn much about them, but his mother and the pack herbalist had told him that they were called "The Stars". He didn't really believe in the pack's gods. Especially since they've apparently lost contact with not only The Stars, but also their ancestors ever since the crowning of Queen Sahara.
Barely three weeks after Regulus started hanging out with Nyx and Plankton, the pack began treating Plankton very poorly. Whenever Regulus and Nyx tried to visit her, pack members were always either biting and nipping at her, or forcing her to do more work. This reasonably infuriated the two, and they asked Cherry Root about the pack's treatment towards their friend. The alpha confirmed that this was their doing, and scolded them for hanging out with Plankton. "A sacrifice is only meant for breeding and pupsitting until their eventual death. They are not allowed to have any sort of relationship in the pack." Those words from the alpha herself made Regulus loathe her even more, but there was nothing they could do about it as Cherry Root had the last say on all matters.
Still, the trio continued to meet in secret, which made them grow closer together. That was until the inevitable happened...
A few months after the passing of Plankton, Reggie and Nyx grew more distant with each other. Reggie didn't know how to deal with the loss of a loved one, as he's never experienced it before. The most he could do was put some space between them as he felt like he needed it. Although they missed their friend dearly, Nyx missed the old Regulus more than anything.
Firewood and Volcano were there to comfort them after their friend's death, which Reggie appreciated dearly. Eventually, Regulus was able to come out of his shell after a few weeks of distancing himself from others. It was all thanks to Firewood. Him and Nyx began hanging out with Firewood and his hunting team more often, and that is how Regulus grew even closer to his old friends. They were there for him when he was at his lowest points in life, and helped both him and Nyx move on from Plankton's passing.
A New Day, A New Experience
Using the tips he learned from Firewood all those months ago, Reggie built up more confidence and began charming Nyx. It was a success! Nyx and Regulus officially became mates with each other after three weeks of the two playing cat and mouse. The two loved each other dearly, and weren't afraid to be rough or harsh towards one another. Despite the two being enamoured by each other, there was a small issue in their relationship that couldn't quite go away. Nyx wanted kids while Regulus did not.
Both of them were female by sex, which was something the two didn't mind. However, Nyx wanted both of them to raise pups at the same time, but Regulus wasn't sure if he wanted to raise pups whether they were his or not. Feeling conflicted, Regulus went to Firewood's sister, Landslide, for advice.
She told him that if he truly didn't want to have kids, adopted or otherwise, then he should be firm with Nyx about his feelings so the two could hopefully come to a mutual agreement. If Regulus wasn't ready to have pups yet, then he should tell so to Nyx so they could plan and prepare for when they are both ready. Regulus was thankful for the advice, and took it to heart.
After a long conversation with Nyx, Regulus and his mate agreed that the two would rather have pups later in life. Thanks to Landslide's advice, Reggie was able to solve that issue with his mate.
