Daybreak doesn't speak much but you enjoy their company nonetheless. Sometimes a single expression or a simple smile tells more than words.
Daybreak is curled up taking a nap. They invite you to join them.
Daybreak is focused on organizing some of their stuff as you approach, and they pause to take something out of their stash in silence and pass it to you. A gift! Daybreak smiles softly before going back to the work you interrupted.

Daybreak: Puppy Days

Daybreak was born in a litter of five and four of the pups in the litter made it to four months. Daybreak was one of them. Her mother is none other than Nova Nexus, a well renowned scout in the Galactic Ones and a shewolf who holds a lot of power in the pack. Although the pack stopped having betas since the rise of the alpha HellFires, Nova is considered a beta. Like her mother, she is quite strong and has lots of potential to become either a great scout like her mother or a finisher like her auntie, Tengoku. Daybreak even has a sunny coloured pelt like Nova, but was born with three eyes instead of the regular two that most wolves have.

While Daybreak was still young, she hung out with pups from the alpha's litter. Fortunately for her, she and her littermates were only a few days younger than alpha Berry Bark's pups. Happy to have her own playmates who weren't only her siblings, the beige shewolf quickly made friends with Cherry Root. Cherry was a golden brown shewolf with a slightly lighter underbelly and a faint blue stripe along her body. Almost identical to her mother, the alpha. Funnily enough, Cherry was chosen to be the next alpha by her mother.

Most of the time the pups spent together was during training lessons as Cherry Root had to undergo heir training. Daybreak and her littermates didn't seem to mind, and training lessons were better with friends anyways.

A New Dawn, A New Day

It was a late summer day when the grasslands and surrounding territories were hit with cool air sweeping through the northern and eastern biomes. For two days, snow storms raged through the lands and covered the grasslands in snow up to a wolf's elbows. None of the animals were prepared for this, and many had to seek refuge together inside caves and burrows for warmth. The Galactic Ones pack was no different.

On the third and last day of the storm was the death of the pack's beloved alpha. Berry Bark had frozen to death. The day before, when another blizzard had started, she asked her daughter and dearest friends to help her stay standing in the snow so she could freeze. It was a strange request for sure, but the elder alpha had passed away, still standing yet frozen in ice. It was a majestic yet grim sight for everyone in the pack, but it moved Berry's friends and family to tears. Berry was always filled with determination. She has been since the start of her role as alpha until the very end. Daybreak couldn't help but admire her for that.

After the body of the alpha was placed under a big oak tree at the pack's burial grounds, Cherry Root took on the role of alpha. Daybreak was proud of her slightly older niece, a runt who became an alpha. What surprised her was the fact that Cherry Root asked Daybreak to rule alongside her a month after Berry's death. Daybreak and Cherry Root were both young and inexperienced. She could've asked the pack herbalist, or one of the pack scouts. Even her rowdy cousin would've been a better alpha. Instead, Cherry Root chose her. Daybreak decided to ponder her offer for a few days. It was a huge responsibility she had to take, and the sunny pelted shewolf wasn't entirely sure if she was ready or not to take on that role. Three days after offer, Daybreak came to Cherry Root's hollow tree den; the largest one in the cedar tree cluster they called home.

"What do you say, Daybreak? Do you want to rule alongside me as the pack's queen?" The golden brown alpha tilted her head. She looked expectantly at Daybreak, who was feeling a bit nervous. "I.. I suppose I will." She smiled at her niece. They were in this together- looking after the pack while lending each other advice. When one was busy or out exploring, the other would be there to watch over the pack. It was the perfect strategy. They were able to push their pack through famine and hardships together. Although the pack wasn't too keen on having an alpha and a queen, Daybreak proved her worth to the pack and earned high respect equal to that of Cherry Root.
