Story -
Snow was done with it. All the older wolves pushing him around, it was too much. If he didn't want to go on a hunting patrol, he didn't want to go on a hunting patrol! Nobody got it. Nobody just listened to what Snow wanted. And all the yipping puppies?! Don't get him started on that. Everything grated on Snow's nerves. And nobody except him mother and father actually liked him, but then again, they had to. Snow could put on the best show ever, say the nicest things, do the nicest things, but nobody cared. Snow decided that if nobody liked him, they could at least hate him. Hate was still a strong emotion. Snow started picking things off of the hunting pile, stealing herbs, taking the pups toys. Little things like that, making sure to only do it in a way as to not truly hurt the pack. Maybe people would listen and pay more attention to him then. But no, all everybody did was stay farther away from him, stop talking around him, because nobody trusted him. Snow couldn't take it anymore, he stole some food in the night and ran off, deciding that he could probably do better on his own anyway. Come on, how hard could hunting be?

Story -
(Sorry in advance for the novel.)
Snow was down to his last scraps of stolen food when he was finally forced to face the fact that to survive, he must hunt. But hunting was harder than it seemed, and he wondered if he should have joined those hunting parties after all as he stalked a grouse from afar. Just as he was about to creep closer, he was startled to find another wolf jumping out from the trees and snapping their jaws around the bird's neck in a swift motion. His stomach growled then, and the other wolf was alerted to his presence, their head snapping to him. To his surprise, the wolf did not growl at him nor attack, but instead walked over and dropped the bird at his feet.
"You take too long," said the she-wolf.
Snow couldn't help but feel affronted. And confused. "What?"
"You take too long," the she-wolf repeated. "Any longer and it would have flown away. That's the trouble with birds." The she-wolf then stepped back and looked Snow over. "Where's your pack, youngling?"
Bitterness swirled inside of him at the mention of his pack. "I don't have a pack," he said in lieu of explaining his decision to run away. It wasn't like anyone in his pack really cared about him anyway.
The she-wolf huffed. "Come, then. I am the leader of the Wildfate, Reythyra Starbeam."
Snow was about to deny her, but his stomach growled again, and he thought about the food he had stolen and the grouse at his feet. It wouldn't last forever.
"Alright," he said, "let me get my things."
~~~
After Snow gathered his meager belongings, Reythyra led him to a series of caves connected to an overhang. There he was met with the rest of the Wildfate. There were many puppies, he noticed. Much to his horror, he had realized that the pack was in the middle of a puppy-boom. Just what he needed, to be ignored all over again. At least it would take the attention off of him if he decided to nick a few things before he left. He wouldn't be staying here long, that was for sure.
"This is my pack," Reythyra told him, and there was pride in her voice. "The Wildfate."
"There's a lot of puppies," Snow said. It was winter, and having too many puppies was dangerous. No one could care for them all.
"Of course," Reythyra said. "One must always look to the future, and the future is our pups." She nodded to him. "I will show you to where the adolescents often stay. Many are in training right now, though."
Snow couldn't help the frown on his face when he heard the word training. Reythyra must have noticed, for she tilted her head at him.
"What do you want to be when you grow up?" Reythyra asked him.
Snow thought about it. The options before him all seemed terrible. From hunting to scouting to pupsitting, all were dull. Boring. He couldn't imagine himself being stuck doing one of those forever.
"I want to travel," he said because it was the least terrible option. "To see the world and meet other packs."
Reythyra nodded. "And what do you expect these other packs to do? To take you in and let you freeload off of them?"
Snow cringed. He hadn't thought that far.
"Of course not," Reythyra said. "You understand, everything in this world has a price. And if that price is something as small as helping out here and there, I think you should take it."
"So," Snow began, already dreading the answer, "will I be helping out here?"
"Of course," Reythyra said. "Everyone must help out. It is winter after all. But I will allow you to pick what you do. Ask around, find something you'd like. Give me an answer by tomorrow."
"Pupsitting," Snow said, because he'd already had training in it and it was the least intensive work he could do. All it involved was speaking to a pupsitter and having them yap on about the best methods to make sure a pup didn't somehow off themselves.
"Well that was fast," Reythyra said. "But alright. I shall set you up with a pupsitter on the morrow. In the meantime, settle yourself. The other adolescents should be back soon."
Reythyra left, and Snow sighed. He'd have to get a move on sooner rather than later.
~~~
Soon enough, six moons had passed by in the blink of an eye. The day had come when his training had ended and he was finally considered an adult in the eyes of all. It hadn't been so bad, for his training consisted little more of discussions and observing. It was still better than having joined a hunting party, he figured. As a pupsitting trainee, he was given more time to himself to do as he pleased.
On this day, several had come of age, and there was to be a big celebration, fit with a feast. He had not seen much of Reythyra since his training began, but he had met with and played with her daughters, Valtris and Daerona Moonwalker. (Snow still couldn't get past the strange names those of the Wildfate had.) They too were being celebrated in their coming of age alongside Snow and the others.
The feast consisted of several carcasses of different varieties, with choices ranging from bird and bovine to fresh fish. The celebrations had been planned moons in advance, with the hunters working hard to bring in the food. Snow feasted upon a dozen different carcasses, sampling one and another until he couldn't eat another bite.
After the celebrations died down, Daerona approached him while he was contemplating his life's next steps under the glow of moonlight.
"Mother wishes to speak with you," Daerona said.
Snow turned to her. "What for?"
"Dunno," said Daerona. "Probably to ask how you've been or something like that. But you'd better find out."
Snow sighed and rose from his position. "Alright," he said, and headed back inside the den.
When he'd gotten to where Reythyra was, the Wildfate's leader was surrounded by her new set of pups. They were but newborns, still nursing and totally reliant upon their mother and the pupsitters for everything. Reythyra noticed him approach and rose.
"You've come," Reythyra said. "Good. Tell me, how have these past few moons been treating you?"
"Well," Snow said, and it was not a lie. He had learned lots from the Wildfate, and met many different personalities. It was different than he had expected, when he'd first set out in what seemed so long ago, but it was fulfilling nonetheless.
"I am gladdened to hear so," Reythyra said, "but I am not blind. You wish to leave."
Snow cringed. The pack leader was skilled at seeing right through someone, it seemed. "I told you once that I wanted to travel."
"I remember," she said. "And I had told you that to do so you could not be a freeloader."
Snow remembered that, too. Before he could respond, Reythyra continued.
"But you have learned many things," Reythyra said, "and I do not think you would be a freeloader to your next host."
"My next host?" Snow asked, a little confused. Reythyra gave a tired sigh.
"I am giving you my blessing, boy," Reythyra said. "Travel. See the world. We have taught you what you need to do so, have we not? You are not the foolish puppy that ran away in the middle of winter anymore."
Snow couldn't contain his shock. He had not expected his leaving to go like this. "You're letting me go, just like that?"
"Just like that," Reythyra repeated. "But we do not leave you without gifts. Here," she said, and grabbed a necklace from aside, setting it around Snow's neck. "To remember us by."
Snow took in the necklace. It glowed a deep blue. "This is from the Dreamlands."
Reythyra nodded. "It is."
"You're really giving this to me?" he asked, feeling touched. He had never expected the Wildfate to be so kind to him, to feel like a family of sorts. But they had wormed their way into his heart through their strange, but dedicated ways.
"As I said, to remember us by. Look upon it during your journey and remember where you came from. Remember who you have met along the way." Reythyra smiled. "Some days will be harder than others. Some days will be easier. Know that. And say your goodbyes to the others before you leave."
"I will," Snow said, meaning it truly.
"Good," said Reythyra, and when the puppies began whining she turned her attention back to them, and Snow left to give her some privacy.
Snow spent the rest of the day telling the Wildfate his goodbyes, spending extra time with his similarly-aged friends and the pupsitters who had mentored him. Many were sad to see him go but happy that he was doing something that he wanted to do. It made him feel loved, in a way, that there would be so many who would miss him and think about him from time to time. It made him wonder how his original pack was fairing. Did they miss him? Somehow, he was scared of the answer.
No matter, Snow told himself. He had plenty of things to see and plenty of wolves to meet along his journey.
And with that, he set off into the unknown, ready to meet his next adventure head-on.

Ghost stalker brings Snow to Nagini a mainly white and black wolf with brown markings mixed in here and there. Nagini turns when she hears Ghost stalker and Snow approaching.
Nagini: Ah. Another traveler I assume. Well I hope your good with pups because we seem to be swarming with pups and there are several more on the way. We need all the help we can get! Oh, my appologies, I went on a rant and didn't even let you speak! I'm Nagini and judging by your pelt color, you are Snow.
Snow blinks in surprise, not expecting Nagini to guess his name that easily as well as put him to work so soon.
Snow: Its fine and how were you able to guess my name like that? No one else has been able to do that.
Nagini chuckles: I originally was going to be an oracle but the pack appointed me as the alpha because of how easygoing I am. Anyways you can go and find a pupsitter to talk to. I am sure they will find you a pup or two to start with.
Snow nods and walks towards a cave entrance where many wolves are seen walking in and out of. He walks into a semi dark cave and is greeted by the sight of 5 pregnant wolves laying down next to an abundance of pups and adolescents. To Snow it appeared to be story time. A very colorful wolf approaches him.
Whirlwind of colors: Hello. You must be a new traveler. I'm Whirlwind of colors although you can just call me Whirlwind. Most of the pups have been pushed onto me because of how expirienced I am. There are 4 pups that I can set you up with.
Whirlwind sets him up with a four pups and then when its time for him to leave, they make sure he leaves with a full belly and quite amused.
