Muirín was born in a pack that lived in the glacier. The harsh environment shaped the even harsher mindset of her birth pack: Only the strong could survive and to ensure the survival of the pack those who couldn't keep up for one reason or the other were cast out. The only thing that saved from being abandoned when she was still nursing was that her mother didn't want to let go of her just yet and her father was the beta. He managed to persuade the alpha to let her stay for. However everyone knew that it was inevitable that Muirín would have to leave the pack one day, because she was blind and the pack had no need for a wolf like her. Everyone showed her this from the beginning. She was treated as less and even her siblings picked on her relentlessly. The only wolf who seemed to love her like she was was her mother, but she couldn't do anything against her being cast out.

After Muirín wandered the glacier on her own for a few days, she was found by a faelcu named Feidelm found her. Feidelm took pity in her and decided to raise her as if she were her own pup. She made her a necklace that aloud Muirín to connect to a wisp that would guide her. However she also wanted her to know wolf customs, which she was not familiar with. Due to this Feidelm wanted her to grow up in a pack. Even though it could mean that they had to separate, which Muirín didn't want to accept. Eventually they came across Clearfog Pack and were both accepted as a member of the pack.

It took her some time to get accustomed to being part of a pack that accepts her the way she is. During this time she kept mostly to herself, but after that she quickly became good friends with Graham Eclipsedmoon. When it was her time to become an apprentice she decided to become a herbalist. Mainly because she had always been quite interested in herbs and the art of healing, but also because she felt it was the only way she really could contribute to her pack.

She was quite surprised when Muriel Eclipsedmoon offered her to become the next leader and she almost declined, but in the end she accepted. She decided to still learn the art of herbalism, just not as intensive as she would had she become a herbalist.
