Biography
Info (DO NOT EDIT THIS SECTION)
-Please keep him played with and fed. If you are struggling with this, tell me, I can send some food for him (and extra for other wolves in your pack, as a gift for being responsible with him!) I however tend to go inactive for a bit every few days, in which case I will not see your message.
-You may breed with him! If he is in a pairbond, you may keep him for longer than 7 rollovers (still, pass him on fairly soon).
-There is no limit on how many rollovers you can keep him, but be reasonable.
-You can assign him to do any roles you want.
-You may add decor.
-I reserve the right to recall him if you go inactive for a while.
-Please add lore if you want! This is not mandatory, but I absolutely love reading what you guys write about him!.
The following is only applicable if you intend to breed him: if not, you don't need to read this.
If you do pairbond him, don't use this as an excuse to keep him for really long. There is no limit on how many rollovers you can keep him, but be reasonable.
Understand that if you pairbond him, when you break the bond I expect you to play with him enough to keep him from leaving (since breaking pairbonds drops amusement to 0%). If this is impossible for you due to amusement shortage, dm me and I will hopefully help. I however tend to go inactive for a bit every few days, in which case I will not see your message.
Thank you for reading! Sorry it was long.

Alsace
Grouse's combative nature may have sprung from his natural unease of the world aroudn him. His mother Eclipse struggled to fathom how a pup barely more than a newborn would be so anxious of the world around him- and juxtaposingly his sister Candy Beans was born with a malicious confidence that was equally concerning, but at least she didn't yowl at the sight of every shadow.
This is a patterned behaviour Grouse was able to grow out of eventually, but soon again his world was shaken as his mother passed him off to the pack of his absent father, Kestrel, a wolf he had neer laid eyes on, yet he was expected to admire the tales of his adventuring. no doubt, the stories and glances wolves shared at the mention of his father were enough to awaken a fiery passion for the work of somewolf he was told he imprinted very strongly in personality and demenour. Nonetheless, this fire of fondness left him with a scathing blame for the wolf he seemed to be expected to love, that was nothign more than a concept.
In true wolfy fashion, he grew to love his new pack, and would still visit his mother frequently. As Pirate and Kestrel had been close siblings despite the geographical distances between them, the bond between Grouse and Candy Beans would grow the same, and this began very early on when Grouse realised his sister may be the only constant of his life. Pirate, uncle by relation, assumed a very fatherly bond with the two chidlren of his brother while Kestrel wasn't here. For Grouse, Pirate was the only flavour he was subject to of whatever his biological father may be like. This hope turned out to be true, when Kestrel was finally able to return home when his children were little more than puppies, now adolescents.
Grouse's reserved nature as a result of the inconsistent turmoil of his childhood wasn't reversed, however he was overjoyed to see his father become everything he had hoped for. Pirate was still just as close emotionally to him, and he loved his kin dearly. Some feelings of betrayal began to dissipate, however at this point a sense of yearning for change and adventure had begun to grow in Grouse, and in a cruel irony, the very thing he was terrified of as a pup now enticed him.
And so, he decided to embark on a continuation of his father's legacy- very much shaped into his own, as his blood relation and furious blood encouragement turned him to the winds, much as his father had, all those summers ago.

Grouse's first adventure was rather uneventful and he trudged home in biting winter, flakes dancing around him in a demonstration of consolation. Well, he felt rejuvenated knowing that in his youth, he had the gift of experimental freedom. eventually, upon arriving at the mountain grove where Alsace lived, he was surprised to seen in stirrings in the camp, flakes snow-kissing the roofs of caves and tunnels in an agreed silence. Grouse tasted panic in the back of his throat. Plunging down through the scarlet-smoke as the sun set, yeilding behind the wrath of snow, Blizzard, a newborn when Grouse had left but an adolescent now, jumped out into his path, jaws parted, tail performing a scooping motion in the Alsacian code of "stay silent". Dropping the code, he muttered with the polite courtesy adressing a traveler, "We welcome you. Follow me."
Kestrel, Grouse's father, had died the previous sunrise to his arrival. Though his packmates were keen to see him and displayed an excited exasparation that his return was so conincidentally timed well, it was obvious they were all grieving; witht he exception of some younger pups like Blizzard who were restless but understanding, and bored with their vigils.
Grouse, though grieved, recovered quickly and re-embarked on his travels soon after. He had nothing to stay in Alsace for.

LORE: Autumn was never easy. The lead-up into winter brought frequent chaos and disorder amongst most packs, who scrambled each to obtain the supplies they needed to prepare for the harsh talons of winter to sink beneath their pelts. Grouse was... unsure, to say the least, as to why (of all possible places to settle) he found himself being called to the treacherous mountain tops, but he marched forth anyhow, his heart burning with curiosity and the incessant desire to quench such a fire. He lived in mountains, used to the terrain, but these cliffs appeared dangerous—possibly inhabited by mere goats and scurrying wildlife.
Shockingly, it took very little time to find what appeared to be a lone wolf standing atop the cliffside, her eyes harsh and fur sweeping in the wind. She clambered down to meet him halfway, her build bulky—although smaller—and made to amble along in such harsh conditions. She demanded what he was doing on her territory, and Grouse could nearly taste his shock. Such a healthy wolf, living like a fool? Where a simple rock could form an enemy, and one misstep could result in true peril—this is what she considered home? What kind of ghastly creature would ever choose to set foot here, let alone live among it? It was only after this thought that Grouse was reminded of his own smouldering heart that led him here, and he wondered briefly what connections the world had to such a place.
In the face of this aggressive she-wolf, Grouse had to ponder whether or not he had gone too far in his travels. Perhaps that burning ache was nothing more than old fear coming to haunt him, enveloping his chest in striking boldness. He paid it no mind, lip curling.
The aggressive wolf was quickly harried away by another she-wolf, much larger than the previous, and built more like a wolf Grouse anticipated to see upon these outcrops. He begrudgingly bowed his head and apologized, though the larger she-wolf simply smiled.
"Our territory welcomes you, although it may not seem it," she growled pointedly at the other wolf. "Please, ignore my sister. You seem capable, and we are in need of assistance."
The wolf introduced herself as Tunk (what a strange name), and offered Grouse the opportunity for abundance and respect if he assisted in lowly rank duties, such as watching their pups.
The camp was shockingly well-made, cave systems leading to warm dips and containing fresh spring water. The prey was somehow flourishing, and when asked, Tunk simply explained her hunters were experienced travelers that were willing to go a great distance for the pack. Grouse could taste the loyalty and pride of the wolves here, and, although uneasy at the prospect of such a dangerous life, he felt content to assist them for some time. Tunk was ecstatic at this, and welcomed him with open paws.
He assisted in raising numerous pups over the time he spent in Skernnis Hills, and upon his departure, Tunk thanked him for his time, making it clear he was permitted to revisit at any time he may seem fit.
