The great, grassy prairie is where this story begins, where golden meadows rolled endlessly into a blazing horizon. Everything was like fire here, and the young wolf's pelt was no different; an inferno of bright crimson, speckled gilding highlighting every feature and shimmering under the long daylight. The name bestowed upon him before he departed his birth-pack was Rustic Charm, a powerful name that was chosen for him before he was even whelped.
Marking the first celebration of his birth, they sent him away. Destiny guided him through the tall flora of his native land; every blade of grass, stem of stinging nettle, and bundle of yarrow that he passed grabbed him, marking him for eternity as belonging to the flatlands that made him. Though, despite the land's attempts to hold him there, Rustic Charm knew that his fate and fortune didn't reside here.
As he journeyed, hocks tattered with mud and scars, he happened upon a small traveling group of wolves. The Crystalline Few they had called themselves, piloted by a scattered white she-wolf by the name of Arcadia. She told him grand stories of their own journeys, the wolves they had come to meet, how they had escorted them to their next destination.
The caravan was only temporary, and while Rustic Charm valued the friends he had made in his newly found family, he knew that as they crossed into the deciduous forest and to the outskirts of Icarus, this was where he was destined to be. With heartfelt goodbyes, the fox-colored wolf split from the Crystalline Few, and Arcadia, who had coveted him like his own mother, in favor of helping ease these waring packs alongside his newly found beloved, Penny.
