New beginnnings

The forest was quiet except for the soft birdsong filling the air. The place was still, a pile of ashes lay in the middle of a burnt clearing, the trees surrounding it barely alive, some even still smoldering slightly. Finally, StarryNight shook out her pelt from the ashes, her Star covered pelt glittering through the ash. She blinked her new sapphire blue eyes open to look around, surprised to have survived the quest for leadership. The first task had been to go and fight 5 things from the territory in which they lived, then the second was to help burn Opal'Stars ashes, then sleep in the ashes all night. And if she lived after that, then she would be leader. And she did pass! Finally, she went and washed her fur in the freezing water and went to Peach, The medic, bowing her head gently. Peach smiled her warm smile. "Near Starry, your new name will be StarsLight. I hope you lead this pack well." Peach said, licking StarsLight's forehead gently, before sending them off to greet the pack with their new name, new eyes, and new feeling of happiness, hoping she can lead her pack greatly as Opal'Star once did.

Day one:

After the previous leader, Opal's, death, things have been different. Starry night got a new name, new eyes, and was leader now! She was soon expecting pups, who would hopefully continue her line down to make more leaders to come. StarsLight was helping set up the pack how she wanted, making sure that everyone got a say on what changed. Which was not much except for not letting so many Loners and pups stay in the pack. One wolf suggested bringing back the adoption center, which was quickly shut down after everyone remembered the disaster that happened when it used to be open, their territory could not handle that many pups in one place, and wolves almost left because there was not enough food or play things to keep them entertained and feed. Thankfully that nightmare is over, and StarsLight is working on improving the pack to the best of her ability. Starting with making sure that their friend packs were doing ok, and introducing herself as the new leader, which went rather well in her opinion, which was odd considering she was new and not Opal'Star, who had originally befriended the neighboring packs. Finally at the end of the day StarsLight settled into her new, war, cozy nest, and closed her eyes to slumber.
