Spotted Leaf was born outside of the Three-Pronged Pack, but walked among them at an early age. He was soon initiated into the goddess' beliefs and rose up in the ranks quickly, becoming the student of the former leader, Shattered Twilight. They shared more than beliefs - both had strange, blackened coats which set them apart from the rest of the pack. Shattered Twilight took Spotted Leaf under his literal and metaphorical wing, mentoring the young pup.

It was quickly decided, before the pup even grew into his adolescence, that he would become the next leader of the pack, pending the goddess' approval. The herbalist, Brush Tail, went to the glowing cave every day and waited for a sign. Shattered Twilight decided that Spotted Leaf's drab coat was the cause of the pending approval and began to lead him into the changes that he too had had to undergo.

Spotted Leaf's pelt, under the guidance of Shattered Twilight, began to green and then became covered by brown and white markings, though it all was largely hidden beneath his mottled marks. He was at first frightened, but eventually accepted it as the will of the goddess.

The most startling changes to him came after his acceptance. The goddess gave her blessing to Spotted Leaf during the full moon, when a beam of moonlight shone down upon him in a blinding flash. When the wolves around him blinked the afterglow out of their eyes, they saw a proud pair of antlers upon Spotted Leaf's head, as ebony as his pelt. Stunned silent, the wolves began to bow down, one by one, as Spotted Leaf stood proud over them. Shattered Twilight rested his muzzle against Spotted Leaf, symbolizing his acceptance.

As he grew into his role more and more, his claws began to lengthen and sharpen, and a pair of wings, similar to Shattered Twilight's, began to sprout out of his back. It was painful at first, and then itched, but Spotted Leaf took solace in the manifestation of his lady's will. He painted himself in the same paint that covered Shattered Twilight.

On the day Shattered Twilight came to pass, he was given his talon necklace as he lay beside the dying leader. Though he still remained afraid for his new power, he was strong and he knew that he would lead the pack well. Shattered Twilight's last breaths were spent praising the young wolf, and gifting the pack to his care. When he left the den of the now-still leader, moved on to where the pack's wolves run, Spotted Leaf walked with a new power, infused into his sinew and bones.

In the current day, Spotted Leaf lays underneath the boughs of his woven bush den, sheltered from the sun's blazing heat. He blinks lazily, his ear flicking to shoo away a fly.
