The common kestrel is a small bird of prey from the order of falcons of the falcon family. It is the most common bird of prey in Central Europe after the buzzard.
During hunting, the kestrel hangs in the air, often fluttering its wings, and looks for prey. Noticing a mouse or a large insect, it rapidly falls down. An adult kestrel eats about a dozen rodents per day.
Recently, the bird has been increasingly choosing cities and adjacent territories, settling in close proximity to humans. It has the ability to flutter flight.
Обыкновенная пустельга — небольшая хищная птица из отряда соколообразных семейства соколиных. Наиболее распространённая хищная птица Центральной Европы после канюка.
Во время охоты пустельга висит в воздухе, часто трепеща крыльями, и высматривает добычу. Заметив мышь или крупное насекомое, она стремительно падает вниз. За день взрослая пустельга съедает около десятка грызунов.
В последнее время птица всё больше облюбовывает города и прилегающие к ним территории, поселяясь в непосредственной близости к человеку. Обладает способностью к трепещущему полёту.
