The wolf waits for you in the clearing, his tail swishing to and fro as he watches your arrival with dark eyes. Dark, curious, and just a little bit amused.
He smirks. "Well, well, what do we have here?" he asks, raising a brow. "Never thought I'd see someone like you in a place like this. Maybe this little trip wasn't a total waste, after all. Guess I'll have to thank Goldenstar later." He is quite the handsome fellow, and speaks with the air of one who is very well aware of that fact. "Come on in," he continues. "Name's Badgerclaw. Lucky you caught me when you did, y'know. I was just about to head out, buuut...I guess I can spare a little time. As a favor."
He glances over at his haunch, and the deep red scars that marred his otherwise pristine pelt. "Oh, that? That's nothin'. Got it when I was pulling down a bull elk the other day. Hurt like hell, but no worries; it'll take a lot more than some dumb deer to do me in." He leans forward, studying you with interest. "Now then—"
"Wait, didn't he get those cuts when that elk bucked him off a cliff?" chirped a new voice.
"Yeah, and what's he mean, 'spare a little time'? He's been sitting here all day waiting for someone to come by," said another. "Sweeping the den, preening his fur, putting flower petals everywhere and then getting mad when the wind blows them all away—"
Badgerclaw's suave smile twitches, one ear tipping back a fraction as a pair of falcons, siting in a nest deep in the rocks, make themselves known. Suddenly, he doesn't look quite as put-together as before. Refusing to acknowledge the birds, he clears his throat. "Anyway, as I was saying—"
"He's blowing it," snickered the first falcon.
"Totally blowing it," chuckled the second.
The birds chortling overhead, the young male heaves a sigh. Then he brightens and asks you, "Say, you wouldn't happen to be craving falcon right now, would you? 'Cause I sure am." The falcons clam up immediately, and he shoots a wink at you, letting you know he's only joking...probably.
"Now then," he says, giving you his full and undivided attention once more, "where were we?"
