During the lesson: River now understands how to interpret every ear position with alignment of the tail angle. It was so complex, but Aries was a good teacher.
Killing Effectively:
During the lesson: River focused on Taurus as she explained how deadly things like hooves could be if she didn't pay attention to them when taking down prey. Taurus had River practice dodging between the legs as she bit the carcass.
Working Together:
During the lesson: In the lesson today, Auriga and River learned how strategy can be useful when hunting in a group and trying to chase a big prey animal like Andromeda pretended to be. With group coordination and a perfectly timed call, River was able to tackle the pretend-elk to the ground.
Howling:
During the lesson: River threw her head back and let out her best howl. It was a little weak, but a good start!
Prey Tracking:
During the lesson: Andromeda managed to hide the toy so well that River had trouble picking up its scent, and it took some time to dig the toy out. River didn't give up easily and worked until the task was complete.
Recognizing Danger:
During the lesson: Hydrus stuffed herbs into her mouth and chewed them into a paste. She spit the wad into a paw and dabbed it onto a leaf, showing River the proper technique.
