And as Nixon lay still, breathing in his final breaths, as the snows pattern faltered in its falling a gust of cool air grew. Snow spilled out along the she wolves back, fog surrounding her haunched form in whispy clouds.
"Dear.." a soft voice cooed softly at her huddled form, Lady Orion nudged her shoulder with a gentle brush of her nose.
"He's gone. Dead." Another equally smooth voice piped up, obnoxious in the moment of grief.
"Iris! You must learn to behave like a true lady. We do not insult in the time of loss. Nixon was her mentor, and a great leader for us all. You would not be within our family if it weren't for him." The elder lady wolf scolded, earning an apologetic whine from Iris who padded off to find her mate.
Iris didn't intend to be rude. Wolverine knew that. The wolf wasnt much older than her, still learning the rules and tricks of being a royal. But Flør did it hurt.
"She didnt mean anything by it, Wolverine. She's young and learning her role as will you, you'll come to lead as wonderfully as Nixon himself." Orion murmured faintly in her ear. Background noise in the buzzing in her mind.
Wolverine made no effort to move, still clinging to the life less form of their alpha, face buried in the overgrown form of the male. Nixon had passed away late at night amongst the cool breeze of the snow. He had known it was coming. He has told her. But it still hurt. And grief held her heart in it's rabid jaws.
She only stirred at the feeling of fabric being draped over her shoulders. It only lead to another whine being pulled from her jaws at the feeling of her mentors cloak.
"Come now dear. Go inside while the older wolves lay him to rest." The hunter murmured guiding her to her paws and off into the royals den to rest

The air was freezing, the wolf shivering even under the protect fabric of her newly gained cloak. Her expression soured from the gently nervous frown that had plagued her for the last few days. An extra chill seemed to have spread over the land, a misty fog clouding the ground around the wolves paws. The moon was high in the sky, climbing it's way across. Flør loved the night, the goddess adored the coolness of it. But this was just as well Mrykrs domain. And dangers lurked about.

Wolverine had no mind of what she awaiting in the frozen hours of the night. She truly wished to just tuck in for the night — but also she didn't want to face the lonely darkness of the alphas den again. It held the familiar scent of Nixon deep in the makeshift nest. And the shadowy corners always gave away to illusions of the once lively male.

'just wait, my dear. Flør will come to you. She will gift you with the love of a leader. Just wait dear Wolverine. Flør will gift you with the care of a mother. Just wait. Flør will whisper you the words of wisdom' Orion had told her.

' Patience little one. Myrkr will seek you out of his sisters request. Believe me little one. Myrkr will lend you the bravery of an alpha. Sit in silence darling. Myrkr will lend you the strength of a warrior, the speed of a hunter, and the stealth of a scout. Use flørs patience beloved. Myrkr will descend upon you the vision of the night ' Utah had cooed

But what was it she was awaiting? What sign would reveal she'd been kissed by the goddess and stared down by the god. A shiver travel the length of her spine, the feeling of being watched plagued her mind but when she swiveled around on achy paws, no canine was in sight.

As wolverine turned forward again, propping herself in a steady seat again, a surprised Shriek echoed from her jaws. A pelt of snow white, eyes of ice, and body of mist.

"You have waited long My child. But fear not, I pass on the intelligence and foresight you need to lead the pack as my child Nixon, once had. " an ethereal voice murmured, a freezing chill shooting through her body when the wolven creatures nose touched her head.

"Flør?! Is that really you?" She gasped out, her paws slipping to lift her weight in shock. But she only received an echoing laugh as the mist leveled back out and the sight was gone.

Her mind suddenly felt vast. Knowledge she had never known before, her heart felt it was bursting with care, and her aching paws felt soothed. The cold didn't seem so oppressive anymore. A welcome chill around her body like a snuggly hug.

And as wolverine lifted her head again, she wasn't as startled by the cool red hued eyes watching her from the darkest corner of the camp. It was hard to see but even the shadows seemed to have formed something, the see through fur a void of black.
"I still do not see what my sister seeks out in you mortal canines. But I gift you. Gift you the fight of a tiger. The bravery of a lion. The cunning of a fox. The stealth of a snake. The stamina of our ancestors. And in you, the heart of a warrior. Your eyes will open, and see the night for what it is. " A hardened voice echoed out, feeling as though it echoed in the whole camp.
"I-. Thank you, Myrkr." She fumbled out dumbfounded.

But as the male faded away, she felt it. The hardening of her thoughts. The strength in her claws. She felt the muscles bunching in her limbs, and the willingness to take on any challenges. The dark of the night seemed just a bit lighter, the shadows didn't seem so scary. Everything seemed to light up as if daylight was still around. This was it. And after dipping her head in thanks, calling out her greatfulness, she found it just that much easier to travel back into the emptiness of the alphas den, and curled up in the nest comfortably for the first time in nights.
