Lore!

Foxtail was always the odd one out in a pack of grey coat wolves. She always resembled more of a fox, and for this she'd been shoved around since puphood. Others in the pack accused her mother of being unfaithful only fueling the inferno of hate for her existence. Her parents did the best they could to shelter their baby from the cruel world she had been born into, but it was no good. At only a few moons old, she was chased out by a couple of older wolves; Foxtail had never felt more emotionally distraught in her short life. For days on end she traveled, her paw pads growing sore and weak; Foxtail got little to no sleep every night. One day she just… collapsed. She knew this was the end for her; she simply closed her eyes and waited to take her final breath. The world went dark and yet after a few hours… that final breath never came.

"Get up," a gruff voice spoke as she felt a cold nose nudge her muzzle. "I said, get. up."

Foxtail weakly opened her eyes, waiting for them to focus. She never expected the sight in front of her; it almost made her heart explode. A large black wolf with piercing yellow eyes was staring her down with a nasty snarl planted on his face. As she quickly glanced around, she noticed that she was no longer in the unfamiliar woods but instead in a more home-like setting.

"Are you going to stare at me like a prey animal or get the hell up?"

She let out a small yelp, but jumped to her paws. She wobbled a bit, but eventually gained balance. Foxtail averted his gaze, "Uhm, who are you?"

"Delirium Morris of the Akraisa pack. Who might you be?"

"Foxtail, sir." The sir wasn't necessary, but this lead was scary enough for her to be at least a little formal.

"Not anymore."

"Excuse me?"

"Claret Gospel. Take it or leave it, pup." With a roll of his eyes he turned and slowly walked off.

"Wait!" Foxtail- no, Claret Gospel, called after him. She quickly caught up to him and gave him a small smile, "I like it. You're good at choosing names."

Delirium Morris looked at her for a second with a blank expression, then cracked a smile so small you'd miss it if you blinked. He nodded and retreated to a den a few feet from where they stood.

"Wow! I've never seen him smile before!!" exclaimed a she-wolf with a brown and dark grey coat.

"Who are you?"

"The name's Vulpecula. I overheard you two chatting! Nice to meet you, Claret Gospel. Welcome to the pack."
