Dire walked around, following a butterfly. She was curious but didn't care about it that much. Hearing a rustle, she stood there, alert. When a badger rushed out, she ran off, yelping to her mother.
"
You know better than to wander off while your caretaker is sleeping, Dire!" her mother scolded.
"
I'm sorry, Mother.." Dire said, a sigh. Looking outside, she watched as her happy siblings played about. She didn't really hate her siblings, but she never liked them. She used to do everything to impress them enough to play with them.. but they just call her weird and walk off.
"
Mother," she addressed, staring at her siblings.
"
Yes, Dire?" her mother, Salem answered.
"
Why don't my litter mates like me?" Dire asked, turning to look her mother in the eyes. Salem gave a look of sadness before answering,
"
I don't.. know. I should talk to them about being nice, okay? You go on and behave out there," her mother reassured, nudging the little pup back outside to play where the caretaker was now awake and watching the pups play.
I guess I can go dig holes.. I heard if you burry something, it preserves it better..
