enola was one of the first angels created by the creator— specifically, the first seraphim. she was tasked with helping to create humanity, and to watch over and protect them. she took her job very seriously, and it was something she found absolute joy in.

unfortunately, she wasn't perfect. as she was one of the creators first creations, there were a few things wrong with enola. on the outside, she was fine. but mentally was a different story; she was rather unstable, often acting without thinking and behaving rather impulsively. at first, it was relatively easy to keep in check, but as time went on, it became more difficult.

it was becoming more clear that something was wrong with enola, but none of the other angels knew what exactly. the council didn't do much to help her, simply trying to sweep it under the rug and ignore the ever growing issue.

one day after a rather unsuccessful meeting, enola had a breakdown and ended up becoming very violent towards her fellow angels, injuring quite a few of them and murdering 3 of them— specifically, her subordinates. the rest of heaven were horrified by her actions, and the council refused to accept this was the result of their neglectful actions.

in order to prevent this from happening again (and in a fit of slight panic), the council decided to exile enola from heaven as punishment for her crimes. they would not listen to her reasoning, and as she had nobody to defend her, she begrudgingly came to accept it.

technically, enola was supposed to die after being exiled, but she somehow managed to survive. she was stuck in a strange realm, some place between the void, heaven and earth— she lived in isolation for months on end, suffering day after day. not just mentally, but physically, too; her wings didn't work as well as they used to, and she was slowly losing her mind from the lack of interaction and mental stimulation. despite how hard she prayed, the creator never answered her pleas.

enola began to lose faith in her religion, realising nobody would come to help her, not even the one who gave her life in the first place. she began to feel resentment towards the creator, believing they were not worthy of the title or the powers they wielded if they weren't even willing to help one of their first creations.

she deserved it, not them. surely if she could go through all of this and survive, she was the one who was truly worthy of a title, of such worship and praise.
