Romulus - Steward of Wintergreen
Born to former Knights Titus and Alba as an only son, Romulus enjoyed the attention that was showered onto him, and quietly despaired as soon as he became a Trainee and his parents had to tend to their duties once more. Left a lonely, quiet pup, it was only a matter of time before Jarl Hylae’s litter was formally introduced to Wintergreen. Though he is a moon older, Romulus and future Jarl Svelte became thick as thieves almost immediately, with Svelte tugging him along on her escapades, most of which he took the blame for.
As they grew up, Romulus became Svelte’s shoulder to lean on, and her sole confidant. While most of Wintergreen saw only a naive prankster, Romulus got to know Svelte’s more secret, gentle way of looking at life. Though with time Romulus became distracted with his Hunter training, the pair always found time to meet together and simply be.
Eventually, Romulus, fully promoted and disturbed by the sudden excess of food and quiet whispers of the Jarl’s Dencarls and Apothecary, learned of Jarl Hylae’s illness, of which he reported to the now-Thane Svelte. Encouraging his lifelong friend to assist her mother, Romulus aided her by the sidelines, inadvertently setting himself up to become Svelte’s Steward once Jarl Hylae’s time had come.
Though, admittedly, he had wished to be Dencarl, he shoulders his Steward duties well, and has absolute faith and loyalty in his Jarl’s vision.
