Noone would mistake Thrones as kind, who knew him at all. He was both tempered and ruthless as needed. As nature itself could be.

He was raised in the latter years of Wolfe's life...as Caer's health failed. It was she who had the greater impact on Throne's upbringing. Both wise and practical, Caer was the offset to Wolfe's caring and forgiving nature. She desired of Thrones to serve the same role when she was gone.

Thrones sustained multiple challenges on Wolfe's demise. Both from within and without. He saw the pack through its first plague, ruthlessly driving out any that showed illness, pup and adult alike.

He was not well loved. He didn't desire to be. Nor did he set out to be intentionally cruel. His rule was one of careful cultivation of the pack.
