Biography
Vision is an auburn-furred wolf with piercing silver eyes. She is the runt of Arya's second litter and littermate to Zircon and Apricot. She is currently a finisher in Rumbling Thunder and embodies the spirit of Instinct.
Vision has a talon scar on her front left leg due to an unsuccessful grouse hunt in the Riparian Woodland (11/1).
Vision thinks claws first, mind second. Principles are for idiots who are too caught up in their heads to get anything done! She relies on intuition and soul to guide her. Vision's confidence leads to being a very skilled finisher, where she lacks any hesitation going in for the kill.
Vision can be brash in her words, but she's wearing her heart on her sleeve. Her emotions are transparent and can sometimes change rapidly depending on her mood. Deep down she's trying to prove she's worth something, hating that she was the unwanted runt of her litter.
She deeply loves her littermates, spending much of her free time socializing with them. Her and Apricot share a nest, as they have since puphood.
Puphood
Vision was the runt of her mother Arya's three-pup litter. Deemed less suitable for raise and chase than her littermate Zircon, she was sold on the market with Apricot. Mercy took her back to the Phoenix Tribe, tracked down Apricot, and renamed her to "Vision".
As pups, Vision was particularly close to Mercy's first litter, Fern and Willow. Fern loved listening to her boasting. They spent many hours catching insects together under John D'Arc's watchful eye.
Vision and Apricot were incredibly close in their puphood. Despite butting heads and nipping at each other's hinds, they never missed a night curled up in the same nest. Cool misty mornings led to deep conversations, and they felt they were the only ones who truly understood the other.
Her underpawship went smoothly in terms of study, being a stellar finisher that even Polar seemed pleased by. She put up little fuss and took her training seriously, putting a lot of effort into hunting observations. She was often tired and lounged around when she wasn't working.
Her and Apricot developed more critical opinions of each other as they grew older. Apricot talked all about how he valued fairness, yet bent the truth when it suited him! He seemed to be a different wolf depending on who he was around, which rubbed Vision's fur the wrong way. Voicing an opinion on his new habit fell on deaf ears.
Everything took a turn when Zircon joined the pack. She was originally excited and relieved to see him, seeing their close future in her imagination, desperately wanting to be close to her last sibling. Deep down, she felt jealous of him and didn't understand what was special enough about him to earn their mother's love, and she wanted to figure that out. Unfortunately, Zircon gave her the cold shoulder for many moons, which drove her away from him. She gave up much quicker than Apricot when trying to start a relationship with him. Their deep morning conversations became daily arguments about giving up on him or not.
Everything changed during her Night of First Hunt. Six wolves came of age under the same moon, Apricot and Vision hunting with Lupo and their brother Zircon hunting with Fern and Willow. They chose to hunt by Mockingbird Bush, a route leading to the heart of their hunting grounds. It was in the opposite direction Zircon and the sisters chose. They finished their hunt in only an hour due to dumb luck with a pheasant.
Vision was glowing with pride at her first kill, but realized how boring the night would be while waiting for Zircon's team to finish their hunt. Apricot, Vision, and Lupo were given permission to explore the woods on their own, with Polar and Haven wanting to spend alone time together and feeling it was appropriate to let the new yearlings explore on their own. Lupo and Apricot chatted away, all smiles and barks while gathering trinkets they found around the forest. Vision's stomach twisted realizing she was the third wheel, their old friend taking up all Apricot's attention.
Vision picked up her brother's scent from what seemed to be way closer than he should have been. She wanted to check it out while the other two wanted to keep looking around, not impressed by the idea of seeing lone wolf Zircon and not surprised he was striking off - Vision, however, knew her brother was too dedicated to the pack to stray. Something was wrong. She dragged the three that way anyways, where everyone became concerned as a strong blood scent began to hit their noses.
They found Zircon bleeding out down a steep, rocky slope. Lupo was told to run back to camp and get adults, which he did with haste (this would later lead to his inspiration to become a scout and not a hunter). Apricot, having a small understanding of herbs from Sister, began frantically searching for cobwebs and leaves that could wrap the wound until it got an infection balm. Vision scaled the cliff to get to her brother's side, where his eyes were glazed and his breathing was shaky. She laid by his side, getting his blood on her, and felt his hot, sticky fur, trying to comfort him through the pain. Her breaths seemed to steady him, and despite not getting a word out, he seemed to try and copy her deep breaths. They didn't speak a word, but for the first time, Vision felt genuinely close to her brother - to his soul.
Apricot hastily tried to treat his wound and comforted him with his words, mumbling how it would be okay, how he was going to make it. Vision continued to say nothing. Eventually Twig arrived at the scene with Swift Claws and Cedar, who knew the quickest routes to and from camp. They spent hours patching him up at the spot and bringing water for him to drink, and only arrived back at camp when the sun was already high in the sky.
While Zircon was recovering in the Bitter Den, the three began to talk - he told them about his past with their mother, what she was like, and how he ended up here. They argued - snapped, withdrew, and felt love between them. The stiffness began to soften as the three felt a familial tie between them for the first time, which would only grow from here as they continued living on.
Adulthood
Vision was the founder of Rumbling Thunder, a hunting party consisting of herself as finisher, apricot as a stalker, and zircon as a chaser. Split patches and savage also joined the party as chasers.
Zircon and Vision grew closer by the day. Once they began socializing, the littermates realized they had a lot in common and were always on the same page. They were the most chatty in their hunting party while also being the most dedicated and focused of the hunters.
Despite being in the same party, she saw Apricot less due to his role finishing before hers. In their personal lives, too, she found Apricot growing away from her. He was spun up in the persona he held in front of other wolves, getting further and further from the littermate she grew up with. He spent all day with Lupo, shirking his hunting duties to go scouting with him. Their conversations grew drier and drier until the night Apricot didn't sleep in their nest for the first time. The situation with her littermates was now reversed, with Vision confiding in Zircon while Apricot grew distant.
