Polar

Polar is a white wolf with beige unders and green eyes. She is currently the finisher for Swift Claws and is pairbonded to Haven.

She suffered a deep cheekbone gash from elk antlers due to killing under exhaustion on a deciduous forest hunt. Under the following sun, Polar suffered another hit from an elk cow during a deciduous forest hunt. There is a scar on her right shoulder from the scuffle. On top of that, (10/26) She has a scar on her hind right foot from finishing a doe in the deciduous forest.

Polar has a deep distrust for the world around her. Nobody knows what happened to her before she joined Phoenix Tribe, but she seems to carry pain behind her cool green eyes. She sees herself as a realist, and the only wolf to truly look at the world for the harsh place it is. She hunts to live another day. She's polite to other wolves to meet her own ends and have a warm den.

The only wolf who understands this about the world in the Tribe is Haven, who has always seemed to understand her. They were quick friends when they met through the tribe and fell in love. Polar sees Haven as...well, a safe haven from the cruelty of the outside world. She enjoys sitting next to her and brooding together, usually in silence, occasionally interjected with a complaint about the weather.

Other wolves have called Polar gruff, which she hasn't understood. Inside, she feels closer to a prey animal than a hunter, and doesn't understand why other wolves don't feel as weak.

As a member of Swift Claws, she was the mentor of many wolves in the Tribe. It's first finisher, she taught the foundations of finishing to Vision, Apricot, and Lux (and got a word in with a lot of other pups, although she wasn't their assigned mentors). Despite how often she spent time with underpaws, Polar finds them generally obnoxious and assumes they're dim-witted unless proven otherwise - this rarely happens, of course. She and Haven never had to discuss their decision to not have pups, since their mutual distaste for the rowdy underpaws was so apparent to the two.

Of course, life decided to screw her over. In the winter of her third year, a pregnant wolf made a makeshift den in Phoenix territory.
