Hex

Hex: Mid 19th century (as a verb): from Pennsylvanian German hexe (verb), Hex (noun), from German hexen (verb), Hexe (noun). To cast a spell on; bewitch. A magic spell; a curse.

You're surprised that Hex remembers each tiny detail and time of various events. You never focus on those things, but at least someone does!

Hex had spent the winter sheltering in the coniferous forest trying to stave off the cold and the pangs of hunger. Hex was sore and itchy with an illness that raged through his fur. Patches of his fur had fallen out, leaving bald rings where the irritation burned his skin.
"Hello? Can I help you?" a feminine voice rang through the trees.
Hex's head whipped around trying to locate the source of the voice. Eventually he spotted a pair of white eyes ringed with a vibrant blue looking at him. Her blue skin seemed to glow against her mottled grey fur.
"I'm Skaði, Alpha of the Blackcreek pack. You seem to have wandered onto our territory. Are you seeking shelter from the snow storm?" She asked, padding through the snow towards him.

"Yes please, and a herbalist if its not too much trouble. I seem to have picked something up on my travels."

"Come with me, I'm sure Valkyrie can look you over tonight and mix up a salve for you." Skaði said.

As she approached, Hex could see that she had white and black spiritual and protector markings adorning her fur. He recognised them from the lessons he had when he was a puppy with his own pack before he left.
