The birth of a pup amongst the half-light of a quarter moon in the dead of the winter surprised most. Her speckled pelt and eyes that could stare into the depths of the universe astonished even her own mother. With their new bundle of warmth against the icy glaciers and harsh blizzards, her pack vowed upon protecting her. Once the season had passed, and the beauty of spring was arising, Alcyoneus found adoration in the darkest depths of the skies. Constellations found their markings within her mind. Ursa Major seemed to pop out to say hello, and the constellation of the Hydra slithered into her memory. Though, one star in particular stuck out. Four paws to the left when facing Ursa Minor, and one paw up while on level with the star Polaris. Curious, she asked the members within her pack of the nature of this star. None of them seemed to know a thing, despite living under the very same sky their whole lives. Alcyoneus found it her destiny to find someone who knew of this star, to find someone who could speak of the truth that surrounded it.
