Rowan

Rowan is a grey husky-like paw with red highlights and unfocused, pupil-less red eyes. He arrived to the Phoenix Tribe on November 21, 2024. He is the littermate of Ant and Raven.

Note: Rowan is transmasc and uses he/him pronouns. However, since the biographies span their lifetimes, he will gender himself according to his own self-understanding at any given point.

Rowan had been one of four pups of Gecko's litter, and the only pup to be assigned female at birth. For whatever reason, their mother had abandoned the litter in an old den. The litter was found by Aloe on a scouting mission in the grasslands and brought to camp, where they nursed with Baked on Estrogen to survive.

Coming into contact with Gnath, the sentient gnathostomiasis parasitical infection that lives inside Aloe, caused the parasites to enter the pups' systems. Because the new larva didn't enter an intermediate host, they didn't have the ability to grow and mature enough to reproduce - therefore, they died inside the pups. However, this left a profound impact on the pups' bodies, who barely survived the burdens of the infection. It left their skin charred and changed their eyes to pupil-less and blood red.

In general, they were a sickly litter. They dealt with the burdens of their health problems for most of their puphood. They were called "the vile litter" by many of the wolves, particularly those who weren't fond of them.

The pups were named by Twig, the tribe's herbalist, who tried treating them as pups. Rowan was named after Rowan berries because of the red sheen to her pelt.

Growing up in the Bitter Den, for the most part, was no fun.

As an underpaw, Rowan mostly spent time alone. Got even more distant from Raven and Ant, actually got along well with Two Three and Four. Looked down on Raven for her codependency on One.
