Sadhbh

Sadhbh had always had an interest in herbs, so when she was adopted by Hawk, a renowned herbalist, she was ecstatic. He became her mentor and the two studied herbs side by side. As they grew older, Sadhbh found herself getting closer to Hawk and his mate, Wren. Wren liked to help out in the herbalist den as well since Hawk was always so busy and could use the support. The two of them had almost a calming effect on Sadhbh who was normally very fiery, and the more late nights they spent working together, the closer they grew. Sadhbh especially liked Hawk though she didn't really know what it was about him that drew her in.

That's why it was all the more difficult to imagine a world without him. Hawk was getting older, and as his apprentice, he fully expected her to take up the job as the clan's herbalist. After all, even though Sadhbh wasn't the "nicest" wolf and definitely not the most "caring", it was hard to look over her way with medicines. She just didn't know how it would work, would the pack even want her as their herbalist? They loved Hawk, and she loved him. Why couldn't he just help her forever? But, she knew it was her duty, and part of her was more that ready to begin.

She embraced Hawk and excepted the fact.

And when the time came... she was not at ALL ready. Hawk's passing was a deviation to the whole pack, including Wren, who seemed to be drowning in her sorrow. She came twice a week to check on her mother, and make sure she was eating. She wouldn't have taken up the role if she had not known how much Hawk had wanted her to, but she did know and the role was all hers when she turned a year old.

At first, it was difficult, but she took to the job very quickly. Her only problem was that she couldn't seem to live up to Hawk. All of the wolves missed him, and her lack gentleness and empathy made her feel inferior.
