In the heart of a dense pine forest, a small clearing was home to a small den. Within the den lay a few young wolf pups and their weary mother, who had spent the night tending to them. But something was amiss. One of the pups, the smallest and weakest in the litter, lay motionless and barely breathing. The mother, exhausted and afraid, could do nothing but watch as the pup's life slipped away.
As the night wore on, a light snow began to fall, casting a beautiful yet eerie calm over the forest. Suddenly, a large male wolf appeared at the edge of the clearing. Nubie, the large wolf, approached the den slowly, eyes fixed on the young pups and their mother. He could sense the distress in the air, and a wave of concern filled his heart.
As he stepped closer, he caught sight of the smallest pup, lying motionless in the corner. A pang of sadness and regret washed over him, for he knew that this pup was unlikely to survive.
Yet in the morning the little pup woke, it's coat now dark and tinged with green.
The pup chose the name Mora for itself and in the later months of fall, fell in love with its littermate: Kim.
Over time, Mora and Kim had their first litter together. While nature can create unexpected combinations, their offspring was a unique addition to the pack. The pup was small but beautiful, yet it carried a high inbreeding coefficient.
This meant that due to a limited genetic diversity within the pack, there was a potential risk of negative consequences to the pup's health and development.
