Yaz was chased from her previous pack, only because food was becoming less and less, the fear caused many to turn against one another. A few were even....attacked to where they crossed the rainbow bridge. Yaz, being chased by her former leaders managed to escape and find a safe place, maybe that's the reason why she's so arrogant? The fear of what happened before may happen again. Regarding the nature of nature of her, she happened to find this pack, one that accepted her without hesitation, she even found love, Jude her mate.
