Lore: Ishtar was a curious pup. She saw travelers coming and going in her pack for her entire short life and was fascinated by their stories. As soon as she was old enough, Ishtar was begging and begging to travel so she could experience adventures just like the travelers she's met before. Once her leader had approved her to travel, her mother sat her down and told her all of the stories of her travels. Ishtar hadn't realized that her mother had also been a traveler, Her mother told her all of her stories and gave her tons of warnings to keep her safe on her journey. Feeling prepared, Ishtar gathered some supplies and set off on her journey.

Lore: It hadn't been more than two suns before Ishtar discovered a new pack. She had been at the edge of her pack's home, the Deciduous Forest, when she heard playful yips followed by the gentle scolding of an adult. With a deep inhale, she cautiously exited the forest and into the windswept grass of the prairies. There was a hunting party and apprentices near by, and they had successfully taken down a doe. The apprentices, who had been playing, were now staring at her. The courage that had coursed through her veins began to faulter. Her steps slowed to a stop as the adults turned their eyes to her. For a moment, no wolf spoke. She opened her mouth to speak, when one of the apprentices bounded over to her. The exotic looking wolf bowed playfully. Without any hesitation, Ishtar returned the bow, wagging her tail in excitement. The others soon joined in. Sage Fire, the first apprentice, introduced herself before running back to the wary adults. After a few minutes of debate, the hunters invited Ishtar to return to the pack with them. Her brown eyes gleamed as she accepted, and followed them further into the Prairie. She was welcomed into the pack of the Atlas Wolves for some time. She learned new ways of hunting and a little about herbs. Once she learned all she could, she bid farewell and set out once more with her new supplies.

Lore: Ishtar's paws padded along the wet soil, rain hitting her pelt at every angle. She needed to find shelter-and fast.
Ishtar picked up the pace, trying to find a sturdy oak to rest under. Suddenly, a particularly slippery patch of mud sent her tumbling, throwing her down a hill and sending her crashing right into a strange wolf.
"What the-" The strange wolf grumbled as he fell onto his side.
Ishtar perked up, ears pinned in shock. "Oh my-i'm so sorry! She exclaimed, nudging him up. Despite the dim light, she noticed his oddly colored fur, a mixture of blue and purple with bright speckles of teal along his flank.
"Nah, you're alright. The blue wolf insisted, turning his gleaming eyes to observe her damp figure. "Sheesh, rain's really done a number on you, huh?
The brown wolf chuckled, nervousness fading away at his friendly demeanor. "Not as much as the mud has on you.
He glanced at the side where he'd fell, mud coating his bright fur. "Aw, crap. Gonna have to ask Spectre to groom me again.
"Who's Spectre? Ishtar asked, sitting up and tilting her head.
"One of my daughters. She's an angel, always willing to help an old geezer like me out." his voice was full of pride and devoid of subtlety.
He then shook his head, a small smile coming to his graying muzzle. "Ah, my manners must've ran up a tree like a scared squirrel. I'm Contrarian.
"Ishtar." She nodded in response. "Nice to meet you".
"Pleasure's all mine." Contrarian's tail wagged softly, body relaxed and friendly. He then sniffled as a raindrop hit his nose. "I best be getting out of this rain. Beaver will have my head if he has to treat another sick uncle."
Contrarian sighed, shaking his fur despite it being a useless action while still standing in the middle of the pouring rain. He then glanced at Ishtar over his shoulder, ears flicking in thought.
"No creature in their right mind would stay in this storm. You're welcome to come with me to my pack, if you'd like."w
Ishtar's ears flattened, tail lightly tucking between her legs. "Well, I wouldn't wanna be a bother-:
"Ah, bothering hothering." He interrupted. "I bother my pack plenty, and they don't seem to mind. We've been taking in travelers ever since my.." He paused, raising up a paw to count. "..however many greats-grandma, Moonchaser, founded the pack. I can assure you, you'll be welcomed."
Ishtar smiled gratefully. She'd kill a bison for a warm nest and some fresh prey. Thank you, Contrarian. "
The elder led her down a steeper hill, into a thick patch of trees that shielded from the storm. Then, they reached a clearing, with smooth, clear soil and dozens of pawprints across the dirt.
"Dad!" a sudden voice rung out, a more pinkish-colored female bounding towards them, with a golden male and red adolescent following behind her. "Where have you been? We were worried sick!"
"I'm alright, sprouts. Just went for a walk, is all."
The young male suddenly turned to Ishtar, purple gaze piercing with curiosity. Who's this, dad?"
"Oh, meet Ishtar! She ran into me on my walk. Ishtar, meet my pups, Spectre, Tiger and Apotheosis." He nodded to each of his pups, Spectre and Tiger sharing the same purple eyes while Apotheosis had her father's gleaming one.
"Nice to meet you!" Apotheosis barked, tail wagging enthusiastically.
"Calm down, you'll scare her away." Tiger chided, only for his sister to nip his leg childishly.
"Ow! Dad!"
Relax, you two. You can kill each other after you guys show our guest to her nest." Contrarian chuckled, although his voice held a clear command.
Spectre nodded, signaling for Ishtar to come along with her tail while her younger siblings followed behind Ishtar.
"So, Ish." Apotheosis began, staring up at her. "Have you ever eaten a worm?"
Ishtar grimaced awkwardly, gaze flicking tothe side. "I-uh, well-"
"Shut it, Apothe. Don't scare off another guest." Tiger growled before glancing at her apologetically. "Sorry. She's weird. Just ignore everything she says."
"It won't be easy, but it'll protect your sanity." Spectre chimed in, an amused smirk on her face.
"I'm not weird!" Apotheosis yipped, fur bristling in annoyance.
Huh? Did you hear that, Ti?" Spectre asked, glancing at her brother.
"Nope. Must've been the wind." He chuckled, causing a frown to appear on the adolescent's face.
When they finally reached the den, Spectre and Tiger wasted no time in rearranging a mossy nest, filled with stems and leaves, to be softer.
"There we are." The eldest sighed, raising her head to smile at Ishtar. "Get some sleep. We'll introduce you to everyone in the morning."
"Which, by the way-" Apotheosis began, leaning up to whisper in Ishtar's ear. "Is a lot."
She chuckled, as thankfully, the thought of being introduced to a massive pack didn't scare her too much. She hadn't been a traveler for long, but she was accustomed by now.
"Thanks. See you in the morning." Ishtar sighed as the soft nest cushioned her belly as she laid down. The trio turned to leave, only for Apotheosis and Tiger's voices to ring from outside.
"Wait! She didn't answer my worm question!"
"Please-let her sleep."
When Ishtar eventually did leave The Wolves of The Willows Pack a few weeks later, she had birthed her first litter of pups with the pack's stud, Beneviento. The pack was massive, filled with all different personalities. Some wolves were less welcoming than others, but their leader, Contrarian, ensured that Ishtar was surrounded by the more friendly members.
