Pairbond - Found an unfortunate soft spot for the newest pupsitter of the pack. Iris is a sweet, naive wolf with little notice to Turmeric's boundaries. They fall while Iris attempts to force Turmeric to take in a nervous new pup as an apprentice. Despite their differences, they are surprisingly one of the first bonds made in the pack. What he did not, however, account for, was Iris' penchant for strays... - - - -
Adoption and loss - A small while after their bonding, Iris wanders through Fleurs weekly visits to the enclave. Lost for a short while, he finds the pool of orphaned or abandoned pups. It's there he finds himself trailed by an odd-eyed, talkative pup. Moth latches himself to Iris and so, with some fearful hesitation, the pair finds themself back the next day to meet the pup together. Moth, for all his differences from both adults, latches on once more and the pair finds themselves parents in a rather impromptu adoption. Iris adds him to his brood of sitted pups but, merely a couple weeks from his adoption, Moth slips out from his parents' den. Holland, who had been sporting a small concussion, had garnered the adult's attention. Despite his parents and packs frantic searching, Moth did not re-appear and was considered dead in the following days. Turmeric shuts himself into his work, only allowing Iris in and often corralling the sullen sitter into their den until the needs of his protected pups drew him out. Iris lost some of his spark in the coming days and nearly left his job in totality before Frost, his charge and Turmeric's apprentice by Iris' force, made the pied wolf rejoin the strays in their den. While healing was slow, the pair grew stronger for it. If, that is, with a lot more sorrow.
Adopting Thistle - Months following the loss of Moth, Turmeric follows Fleur to the trade center in search of herbs for an injured pup. It's there that he meets Thistle. Thistle is a dutiful pup and helps Turmeric in finding the herbs he was searching for. When they meet, Turmeric does not realize the boy is an enclave pup and assumes him to be an apprentice or herbalists son. However, when they find the stand they need, the keeper chases off the pup with tired routine. Fleur steps in and the duo set to find another sale. However, his thoughts wander back to the pup. For the weeks to follow, the same routine repeats time after time with Thistle finding the older every time they visit. Turmeric struggles with the friendship but can't help but grow some fondness for the stubborn pup. It isn't until Iris comes to him with a tearful admission of a pup that he protected days ago that he realizes where this is headed. The same pup was cornered by older strays to which Iris intervened and, as Turmeric finds out, began a similar friendship with the other. After much deliberation, the pair hesitantly approach the enclave again and find themselves in the same spot they had in the spring. With the cold season approaching, adoptions have slowed and resources grown scarcer. Thistle, surprised and afraid, sees them approach and hesitantly asks if they're there for a pup, shyly listing friends he thinks they'd like. With a glance to one another, the decision is made, and Thistle begins to patch their family back together.
