Storm-Petrels are a family of new palatine birds from the order Petreliformes.
These are small seabirds, smaller than a pigeon (wingspan about 40 cm). In flight, they somewhat resemble swallows. Flight is fast, maneuverable, fluttering, usually flying low above the surface of the sea. They are often found in large flocks, especially when they flock to the light of ships at night. On land, they move uncertainly. They are not capable of diving.
The voice is a quiet chirp, squeak, or ticking.
Petrels feed on large plankton, fish fry or fishing waste.

Питаются качурки крупным планктоном, мальками рыб или отходами рыбного промысла.
