Stormfur sighed, feeling incredibly bored as he walked along his pack's territory, looking around for any threats. He'd been out here for hours, his legs hurt, and his throat burned, begging for hydration. It was about time he got back to his clan mates anyway. He turned around, head lowered, eyes on the ground. He grunted, quickly looking up as he bumped into someone, freezing when he saw another wolf, who was definitely not from his pack. His ears pinned back, tail perking up, lashing around. "Hey! What are you doing on Lightning pack's territory!?" He shouted, snarling, watching as the other wolf quickly stepped back, looking confused. "What? I think you're confused. This is Juniper pack's territory!" Stormfur froze, oh no.. He'd been so distracted that he hadn't even realized he'd crossed borders! "Ah, I- I... I didn't even realize! I was just so distracted! H-how far in am I?" He asked, swallowing. "You're uhm.. Almost at the Ancient Juniper Tree..." The she-wolf mumbled, ears twitching. It would take till midnight for Stormfur to get all the way back! Wait, just how long had he been walking!? He groaned, coughing softly. He was so thirsty. "Hahh, its going to take hours to get back to Thunder pack!" He whined, lowering his head, ears drooping. Goldenflower stared at him, sighing as she noticed how parched and exhausted he was. She couldn't just leave him like this.

"Come on..! This way...!" Goldenflower mumbled, gesturing for Stormfur to be quiet as she quickly snuck into the camp, nudging him into her den, going in straight after. She led him over to a small water source, watching as he lapped at it. "You can stay until tomorrow, I guess.. Just- don't get caught, okay?" She said, watching as he laid down on the floor, panting. "Y-yeah, thanks. Phew..." He closed his eyes, laying his head on his paws. It was getting dark and all the other members of Juniper pack would soon be asleep, then Goldenflower could sneak Stormfur some food. She sat down in front of the other wolf, staring down at him. "I'll get you some food later, but for now, what's your name?" He looked up at her, opening his eyes. "Uh, Stormfur. You?" "Goldenflower." She said with a smile.

Stormfur yawned, stretching his paws as he slowly stood up, noticing that Goldenflower was already awake. "Oh, you finally woke up! Good morning, sleepy head." "Mhn, good morning..." He mumbled, rubbing his eyes. He slowly peeked out of the den, ears twitching, no one else was out there, this was his chance! "Well uhm, I should probably get going." He said, turning to look back st Goldenflower. "Oh, uh, wait! Could we maybe meet up again some time?" She asked, a slight blush on her face." Stormfur tilted his head, blushing slightly as well. "Huh? S-sure, when?" He asked, staring at her, ears perked up high. "T-tomorrow evening? We can meet at the fulgirite river!" She said with another smile, and Stormfur nodded, smiling back before quickly trotting off, feeling rather giddy.

Goldenflower let out a nervous sigh as she approached one of the fulgirites, sitting down in front of it, hoping Stormfur would show up. She waited a few minutes, and then caught trace of that beautiful arkose fur. She felt her tail start to wag, and saw his doing the same. "Hey!" She said as he sat down next to her, scooching up a bit to make space. "Hi." He said, feeling his cheeks redden, lowering his head. He swallowed, feeling his embarrassment grow the longer the silence continued. Neither of them knew what to say! "So.. H-how'd it go?" Goldenflower asked after a few minutes, feeling rather awkward. "Uhm, it went well, I guess. The walk home was peaceful!" He said, staring into her eyes, those beautiful black eyes... He swallowed, shaking his head, realizing that she'd noticed him staring. "Ah! S-sorry, I zoned out, I swear!" He mumbled, quickly looking away, laying down and covering his face with his paws. She chuckled, gently nudging him with her snoot. "Hey, its okay! Heh, I was.. Kinda staring as well..." She said, blushing and looking away, laying down next to him. Stormfur hesitated for a moment, and then slowly laid his head on hers, feeling incredibly flustered.

Months had passed by now, and Stormfur and Goldenflower had been visiting each other at the fulgirite river almost daily, in secret though of course, since members of rival packs weren't allowed to be together. They'd grown incredibly close, much closer than friends. They were also finally old enough to leave their packs.. They were meeting up again today, and Goldenflower was planning on asking Stormfur if they could start their own pack! She had a nervous expression on her face as she trotted over to their usual meeting spot, her expression quickly turning happy when she saw Stormfur already there. She went over to him, mumbling a quick hello before nuzzling her face against his neck, humming in content. "Hey! I missed you!" She said, gently licking his ear. "Mh, I missed you too!

Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday, I had to finish a few pack duties, you know how it is." He said with a smile, licking her back. "Of course, when are you not busy with 'pack duties'?" She said in faux annoyance, playfully rolling her eyes. "Oh shush, you probably enjoyed being here alone anyway." He mumbled, chuckling. She laid down, and so did he. Silence filled the atmosphere for a few moments, until Stormfur finally decided to speak up. "What's on your mind, huh? I can see that something's bothering you, Goldenflower." He asked, nudging her. "Hm.. You always have been." She said with a soft snicker, snuggling closer to him. "Well, there's something I want to ask you...", she mumbled, looking into his eyes. "And that is?" He said with a smile. "I, uh, I wanted to ask if you'd like to.. Start a pack together..." She hesitantly said, slowly putting her paw on his. He froze, eyes widening. He'd.. Never thought about that before, but... It didn't sound all bad. Starting his own pack with the love of his life? Who was he kidding, there was now at he could say no to that. "Heh. You know I can't say no to you.. Especially to something like that..." He said, nuzzling their cheeks together. "R- really? You'd do that?" She asked, her whole face lighting up. "Of course."

It was a few days later now, and they had all their things packed in a few pelts. They had already told both their alphas that they were leaving, and since they were old enough, they were allowed to. They walked off together as the sun rose, leaving the grasslands, and starting their journey to whichever place looked like home.
