Pond Apple

While Riberry and Fairy Bell were busy tossing things in the lake to see how it rippled, Pond Apple layed down and sighed. She never actually wanted to sneak out, the moss coloured pup was just afraid to be without her sisters. If only she could be back in her mother's nest now and sleep…

''She's exhausted, huh? We should go back now'' she heard the murmur of a voice

''Hmph, there's still a lot to see but, okay, lets go"

Then suddenly, she felt something softly grabbing at her neck fluff. It barely moved her.

"This is impossible! How about you try?"

That was a queue for a second set of jaws to give it a go.

Wait- why are you moving me? I can move myself

Pond Apple opened her eyes and realised what happened. She stood up and shook herself off.

"Thank goodness! I really didn't feel like carrying you all the way home" said Fairy Bell

"Why are we going home? There's still a lot to see, we can stay a little longer" Pond Apple replied, remembering the conversation from before

"Is that what you want?"

There was a pause, a long pause

"No…I want to go home with mum" she confessed sadly

Riberry and Fairy Bell huddled up on either side of her.

"That's ok, I miss mum a little too" said Riberry

"But…Fairy Bell still had stuff she wanted to see, didn't she?"

Riberry and Pond Apple looked at their sister.

"If your mission is to go back home and sleep, it's my mission too! It's less fun if we aren't all having fun" she replied

The worries left Pond Apple and she let out a deep sigh. Of peace this time. Then finally, after a sucessful journey home, Pond Apple closed her eyes, surrounded by the warmth of her mother and sisters.
