Orion encountered Melor in the mountains by following the faint sound of a lute. Though unintentionally scaring him a bit at first with his enthusiastic demeanor Orion managed to connect with Melor who is a family wolf at heart.
He comes from a pack that values sending their young out into the world seldom letting them stay once they reached adulthood. After leaving his pack and family he traveled the world seeing a lot places he only knew from stories. When he met Orion he saw his chance at setteling down again and building a family.
Melor can often be found by himself working on pieces of music. He prefers listening over talking, always looking out for stories that he can turn into songs. But when he performs his music for the pack all the ears are on him and his clear voice carries on into the woods beyond.
