There once rested, in the deciduous forest where leaves once green wilted into amber and gold, a pack of wolves whose fur was blessed with the color of sunlight. Autumn was their time of worship, the pack revering its pleasant weather before the chill of winter blanketed over their lands. These wolves delighted in activities underneath blue sky and blissful sun. Day by day, their simple lives were adequate and peaceful.Â
These wolves--they kept to their kind. Only on occasion did they accept an outsider, and these outsiders must have their fur kissed by the sun, as was their own. Of course, everything always boils down to a single mistake made. They accepted an outsider, excited over new blood and tales the female would have to offer. But, moons later would their alpha realize that the female had carried pups.Â
This was an unprecedented event. Once the time came and the outsider gave pups, there was a dark-furred pup amongst the beautiful dark golden that laid at her side. This pup would be the only pup named by their conventions, in the hope that he would be accepted as their own. His name would be 'Mizuki'.Â
Many of the wolfess's packmates were enraged. While no one outright wished that she would leave, she would never escape her 'outsider' status. Fortunately, once Mizuki was of age, the pack's herbalist quickly took the pup in. No one would argue with the one who mends wounds about her choice, after all. (TBC)
