Giles

"That's enough gabbin' from me today."

Giles is surprisingly quick for his chubby build, and while he's not the brightest, he is the most gentle wolf in the pack. Rather unassumingly, he holds the title of being the wolf who boasts the most variance in career choice. When he first joined the pack, he served as the scout. In the beginning, he was indecisive about where he wanted to explore, and although all the spontaneous changes exasperated Greymane, the alpha didn't have it in his heart to drive such a well-meaning wolf away. In fact, he very quickly found another use for Giles. When Kaila sought protection in Gilneas with her new pups, Giles was the assigned caretaker for the newborns. His placid nature made him well-suited for the job, but he was very rarely focused enough to be truly observant.

After an unfortunate incident with a hawk nearly snatching one of the puppies, Giles was, out of desperation, given the role of herbalist. When the alpha was incapacitated by an unknown illness, Giles was, aside from Queen Mia, the first to show his concern. His heavy build allowed Giles to help shoulder some of Greymane's weight when the king could hardly walk, and he was all too eager to gather herbs for Herbert after a diagnosis was made. To this day, he knows how to make basic salves, and can sometimes be found following Krennan out foraging.

Currently, Giles maintains the role of a hunter. With help from Bruin and Darnell, he keeps up well enough as a chaser, but has excelled as a tracker. His dog-like baying keeps the team from losing a scent for long, and his determination rivals that of even the Bear Wolf himself. While this looks to be the longterm fit for him, Giles still refers to himself as a "handywolf," and helps out in any way he can. At the very least, he's one of the most loyal members of the pack, and that trait is something all of Gilneas can value.
