Because Samual is the grandson of Elu, and not a direct child, he (nor his siblings) could gain the rank of 'prince' or 'princess'. As such desperate infighting started to occur. In defiance of this treatment, Samual not only fought his siblings, but his grandfather to create a new rank. While he failed to beat the old man, his resilience and his strength granted him the creation of a new dukedom within the pack. The dukedom has been carved out of the general pack lands, and while the Royal family still has jurisdiction over the area, it is a bit harder for them to enact them.
The dukedom however has a rocky start. With a young leader, and literally no commoner members, Samual often finds himself having to traverse back to the mainland to converse and meet with others. Having taken on the hunter role, he has used his newfound skills to provide for himself and entice wanderers to join his section of the pack. Especially as he is on the lookout for a wife.

As you make your way to the outskirts of pack lands, you eventually stumble upon a row of rocks on the ground and a strange sign. Further ahead you spot a rather dilapidated-looking cave, with vines covering the entrance. It is not that big but seems stable enough. You spot a lilac tail sticking out from the entrance, and give a sharp bark to alert them to your presence.
The stranger pauses, before turning to face you, and you spot the one and only Duke Samual. "Why hello there," he calls out, stepping outside his cave. "Welcome to the Dukedom of Kamai." The confusion on your face is apparent. This is a dukedom? "I know it looks a little... off right now," he continues, moving towards you, "but by the end of my reign this is going to be the most prosperous part of the kingdom, would you like to join?" You then get the pleasure of explaining to Samual for about 3 hours about your prior commitments and why you must go.
