Merle came from a complicated background in his previous pack. His dishonesty was only caused from kindness. A lie to keep peace, or to ease one's mind, he would tell it. 

But his lying had caused him to lose Glazia and their newborn puppy. 

Merle changed his name and left the Pack. Bringing forth only his knowledge of herbs to the table when he crossed over into SilverMane's territory. Fen, the alpha female, saw sorrow in the old wolf's eyes.

"Can you heal?" She asked,

"If I have the right materials. I can cure any ailment." He lied, remembering the bitter lie he told Glazia and four of their dying litter.
