Buttercup's mother was an exiled wolf and raised her to have a deep loathing of the pack system due to the fact. After her passing, Buttercup tried to live as her but couldn't due to her lack of hunting abilities.
Buttercup was the first wolf to accept Muddy Mire's invitation to join the pack. She was found while the cheerful pack leader was exploring the landscape and after a conflituous beginning, she started to respect him as a leader - and as an oponent. Buttercup's distrust of the pack system often got in her way of truly befriending the leader.
She was antisocial and ruthless, but was assigned to take care of the pups. Fortunally, Buttercup showed a softspot when around them and she liked entertaining them with stories and different lessons. Her first pup to ever pupsit was Falcon.
Buttercup could be seen trying to take care of adolescent wolves, believe them to still be as fragile as the rest of the pups. She would growl at them if they responded her atempts at protection negatively.
Buttercup's closest friend was Rusty.
Once most of the pups had grown up, Buttercup secretly met a wolf from outside the pack and they had a short-lived affair. She got pregnant and the pack's reception of the news was mixed for they lacked space for more pups. As Buttercup was nested, she knew most of the litter would get chased off the pack once they've come of age.
She gave birth to Chocolate, Wilder, Forest Fire, New Moon and Hurricane. Forest Fire and New Moon died during their infancy, which made Buttercup overly worry over the rest of her litter. Buttercup would be constantly looking over Chocolate, worried about her disability making her survival harder. Wilder changed his name and joined the Forest Dew Pack. After Chocolate moved caves early and Hurricane ran away, Buttercup was left by herself. She deeply blames herself for what happened to her first litter and for the distance Chocolate now keeps from her.
Buttercup became mates with Sunshadow after many months and was pleasently surprised with how having her as a mate made her happier.
Buttercup considered herself an atheist and treated the idea of a spiritual world with disdain, except around Sunshadow.
Buttercup was bisexual.
