Takani
Demi-God of the Forests
Takani was just an adolescent gifted to a fresh, new pack to the general area. Though he'd enjoyed his time in the Dizzy pack, he was excited to meet his future family.
Little did he know his future was about to get wild, even for a wild beast such as he.
After getting settled into his place within the Ravenrhel pack, he learned from his pupsitter and the other adults whenever he could, not knowing what his role would be determined as when he was nearing adulthood and wanting to be prepared.
However, as he was wandering well within sight of the river the pack lived near, he heard strange noises. As he sniffed out the source of the sounds, he encountered a strange beast, a strange blend of wolf, feline, and some kind of exotic-looking bird. The creature's wings seemed to be made of fire, and one was trapped under a rock, the flames being snuffed under the solid mass.
The creature was panicking now that it had caught sight of him, flailing about, stress molting some of the fiery feathers, with the movement and source of bursts of wind flinging the fire around. This in turn made Takani panic, because it would be too easy for the fire to catch and destroy not only his home, but those of other packs nearby the area.
Huffing at the creature to catch its attention, he trotted to a flaming feather well away from it and doused it with a hike of his leg. Then he approached the creature, studying its wing underneath the rock. Noticing how it just rested near the ends, he simply pushed against it with as much strength as he could muster. Once he got it forward a little, he let it rock back and forth until timing the right moment to put extra force to give it enough push to roll off of the wing's feathers.
Immediately they flared back into a brilliant flame fanned along the feathers. The creature wasted no time springing to its feet and circling Takani, simply observing him. Finally it spoke, it's voice gentle and lilting.
"For such a savage beast, you have shown remarkable kindness."
Though Takani didn't understand the sounds the creature was making, but somehow, he just knew what it was meaning to convey. This was so strange! But how could he reply? Would the creature understand the whuffs, yips, and howls of his kind?
Only one way to find out.
He gave a hopeful wag of his tail while he whuffed a greeting, then slowly raised his still wagging tail.
