Kaisa's second, and co-leader of Starfollower Pack. Looks after pups in the den and advises on crucial matters.
The cool morning air wafted up from the valleys, brushing past Winter's fur and bringing many scents with it. She laid down with a soft sigh to enjoy the view -- dawn would come soon, bright and clear on the mountain slopes, and she wanted nothing more in that moment than to witness it. Raising pups was a difficult business. One that, indeed, required taking a break sometimes. But she was fortunate enough to have her own trainee: Palemoon would look after the little ones well in her absence.
"Winter," a voice called, warm and masculine.
Ah. Her mate had returned.
"You went out early, Kaisa. Exploring again?"
He came close to nuzzle her cheek, then sat down at her side. "Just a short ways. Perhaps when these little ones are weaned we'll take a trip around our territory together, hmm?"
Winter thought of little paws and milk-smell. Of warm bedding and packmates curled up closer together, sharing their body heat against the bitter nighttime air. She loved these things, couldn't imagine living without them, but sometimes a wolf needed to stretch its legs and be a wolf; yes, even her, the homebody who often turned aside to allow her packmates out first on their own adventures.
She nodded, gazing out over their home. "I think we should."
