History:
It was a long winter. Mind-numbingly cold. I can barely remember my home, much less the few other packs I've stayed with since then -- just the last one, where I waited out the winter...and conceived my first litter. Though with the thawing of spring, I'm feeling that familiar itch again, the wanderlust that drives me to keep moving onward, in the pursuit of new sights, new faces, new experiences. I plan to linger some weeks longer while I warm my bones & wean my pups, but I imagine I'll be on my way again to yet another pack sooner rather than later... [by Brooke @ 1y6m]
I ended up moving sooner than I originally thought, and travelled through the towering mountains and dense forests with my pups in tow before they had even eaten their first prey. As I went North I ran into a few young wolves leaving their birth pack, and they directed me towards them saying they would help look after my pups during the upcoming Winter. I arrived in the Taiga and found a near-army of pupsitters, what a interesting group! Turns out they're from all over the world and they collected here to look after each other's pups- they don't have many litters in the winter and need the practice with mine they say. At least it gives me more time to meet the rest of the pack and be toured around the territory! [by Embers @ 1y10m]
During my stay with the Galactics pack, I enjoyed chatting with some of the pack members. It was adorable watching my pups play with the other little ones of their pack, and I also took care of a few of theirs during my time as a pupsitter there. [by Solar Zephyr @ 2y5m]
With my second litter in tow, I returned home again for a brief visit with my old packmates, and to wait out the winter while my pups weaned. Soon after, however, I found myself wanting to continue on with my travels, and began preparing for another journey into further uncharted territory. [by Brooke @ 2y10m]
While wandering in the deeps of the forest, I came across a wolf attacking a bear. I held onto my pups and hid in the nearby bush to be unnoticed, but to no avail. The bear had seen us, and thought we were a threat as well. I yelled for my pups to run as fast as they could and started running as well. I felt the bear's sharp claws on my back leg, and then I heard a yelp. The bear caught Touka. I don't want to even think about the rest. The other wolf grabbed the bear by its neck and after some time, finally slew it. The wolf then ran to me to ask if we were ok. She lead us to her pack, Highlights, to take care of us for a bit. While my stay in the pack Kaneki became good friends with the pack's pups. They took him in as a brother, and loved him as such. I didn't want him to have the same fate as his sibling, so I made the decision to leave him in the care of the pack. With long affirmations of love and care to my pup, I left the Highlights with a new journey's desire in my bones. [by ⭐️marble⭐️ @ 3y1m]
Coming into the mountains I caught sight of pups playing in some bushes, I also caught sight of another predator nearby. My eyes widened as the memory of the tragedy of my pup flashed before my eyes I sprang into action. I snarled as I leapt and pinned the predator, my lips curled back baring my fangs. Suddenly a couple adults stood up from their spots being hidden by the underbrush and the pups ran up to me yelling at me to stop. I blinked in confusion although I didn't let up my grip until they all explained everything was okay and the mountain lion cub was their friend. I was led back to their camp and that night explained my story and why I reacted the way I did. The mother of the lion cub forgave me as well. Spending time within this pack I helped to pup sit and give a few of the adults a break, I told my stories of my travels and met other travelers staying at the moment as well. When the time came for me to leave the two pups and the lion cub I met on my first day gave me an Arnica Crown. I proudly thanked them and gave each one a hug before continuing on my journey. Autumn. a beautiful time of year to be in the forest. the clear light blue sky and warm colored leaves that seemed to work in harmony with each other; but as pretty as it can be- its also a sign of the coming winter. I walked along the border of the Grasslands and Deciduous Forest admiring the surrounding areas. it wasn't long until I heard bickering up ahead, when I got to the area I saw a young male wolf and an older female who seemed to be scolding him for "being reckless." but the way the seemed to talk to each other, it was pretty easy to assume that they were mother and son. I felt a ting of sadness as I remembered my own children and the day I had also feared for their wellbeing. by the time I was able to snap out of my own thoughts, the two wolves seemed to have made up and were starting to walk away. I wanted to talk to them but it seems breaking a stick also gets their attention just as fast. the male tenses up while his mother stays calm and asks what my business is here.
I explain that I'm a traveling wolf- eager to see what the world has to offer. with this reasoning the male, whom i learned was Rosvetler, the packs current heir, seemed to calm down instantly. they explained they've had plenty of wolves and to make myself feel at home. I spent the time hanging around the many new-born puppies and mothers before I felt the need to wonder again.

I take my leave. It was time. I'd grown quite weary of pack-life, even after such a short time spent with new faces. Was there something wrong with me, I wondered, puzzled by the contentedness I saw in those wolves. They were... just okay with how they chose to live together. I suppose I will never understand it. My paws itch to move constantly. I'm afraid if I stay too long in one place, I will lose that itch. I cannot let that happen. So travel I must. I still have years of adventure ahead of me, and though I am grateful for those wolves who harbor me and allow me rest in their home, I can never be like them. Not forever. At least, not in this lifetime. [stingray17818 added bone decor & ebony jewelwing]
