Elowah

The new breeding wolf of the Pack of Rushing Waters. Once Columbia grew to a certain age, Elowah challenged her to a duel for leadership of the pack. She denied this request, stating that those ways were barbaric, and that she would not yield to them.

That morning, Columbia's body was placed in the middle of the clearing they claimed as their own. Elowah stood over it and announced that the pack deserved new leadership; someone strong, youthful and capable. They denounced Columbia's private, solitary ways and promised that under their leadership, the pack would become stronger together. The founder of the Pack of Rushing Waters was dead, and so were most of the original members. 

Though the support they garnered wasn't unanimous, Elowah assumed the leadership position, though some of the more observant members of the pack couldn't help but notice that Odell, a small, quiet wolf, seemed to be calling the actual shots. Currently, the Pack of Rushing Waters is split halfway, with most of the younger wolves supporting Elowah and the older members vying for Maidu, the pack's former breeding male, to step up and reclaim the pack.

Nothing has happened yet, but the air is tense.
