Calendula

Calendula is the first male alpha and founder of the forest pack named the Viridis Greenwood Pack. He is named after the genus that marigolds are in. He has a reliable personality.

Reliability may seem like a good trait to have, but not when it's being used for actions that are morally grey. Unfortunately, this is Calendula's case: he is reliable in that he has a pattern of recruiting wolves just to hunt once for him and the other pack members, and then chasing them out of the pack.

However, he's also a reliable money maker, and the silver cones from the hunts he's orchestrated with these wolves' energy has made him enough of a profit to help those who don't have the free will to leave. With his money, he's starting to make a safe haven for pups and adolescents being sold at relatively cheap prices, and he hopes their gratitude pays him back tenfold when they become hunters and pupsitters...perhaps one will become the new herbalist of the pack? Calendula chased the first herbalist, who was an unnamed grey wolf with olive eyes, so hopefully a young wolf would step up to the plate.

Calendula also formed a new habit, one which has strained his relationship with his mate Chanterelle: chasing members of the pack that don't fit most packs' standards. One can tell if they're one of these unlucky wolves by if they have relatively unmarked fur, they don't receive a name from Calendula, they don't perform as well as most wolves do, or if they're immediately made to hunt when they join the pack. The alpha argues this is for the wellbeing of everyone involved, but there's only so much one wolf doing five wolves' jobs during a hunt can learn...

One night, Calendula spent hundreds on pups and adolescents in bad living situations -- they were being neglected and left unfed by their packs despite being for sale or trade. What the leader didn't realize, however, was that some of them needed pupsitters to watch them more than others did...and the first pup death in the Viridis Greenwood Pack happened as a result. A grey, unnamed pup with blue eyes ate a plant which had poison in its berries and leaves, and to make it worse it was Chanterelle and Hydrangea who found this puppy who died foaming at the mouth, a panicked expression etched onto his face.

Ever since, the leader has been stricter with his purchases, and he makes sure to assign pups in need of pupsitters to the pack members who he knows are more than capable of handling them. His purchasing has slowed down as of recently, and for the most part he spends his days exploring for food and playthings to entertain his future hunters, pack members, and stud. In addition, Calendula took up fishing to pay for the resources to house more wolves, and started doing favors for a rich snake who asks for very little from him...

The second event where two worlds collided left Calendula a little worse for the wear -- he got not one, but two scars due to fighting a wolverine and a deer in that blue, glowing realm. However, he's refused to let the pack's herbalist, Sinocrassula, heal the scars, as he thinks they show his determination to keep his pack safe while putting himself in danger.
