Nightprowl was born to her father, Ferret, and her other father, Sageflight along with her sister, Streak. Her relationship with her sister was going badly from the start, she refused to sleep in the same nest as Streak. Nightprowl was closer to Sageflight, but she also had a good relationship with Ferret. Nightprowl was only around two moons old when Sageflight was hunted by some Humans and taken. She felt quite apathetic about his death but did mourn him. She tried to become good friends with multiple pups and somewhat older pups, but none of the friendships became close or lasted for long.
She received Shadestalker as her mentor once she was old enough. He was kind but somewhat ignored Nightprowl's interests in parts of her training. Shadestalker mostly focused on stealth while somewhat neglecting the whole fighting part. Nightprowl was very busy during her training and didn't have time to become particularly close to any of the other trainees.
A few moons after Nightprowl became a full pack member, the dawn patrol found Streak's murdered body by the edge of their border, which launched an investigation. The killer was found to be Weasel, who was exiled as punishment. The motive was sadism. Nightprowl was horrified and angry that someone would do this to her sister, despite not being too close to her. She first really talked to Goosestem when she stepped on Whitebee's tail. The conversation that quickly kicked off was enjoyable for both and they quickly became friends.
Worried for her own safety, Nightprowl took the opportunity to leave and escape the pack not long after. Creating her own Pack and her own life within Vast Branches.
