The start of her life and her pack was in the high reaches of the mountains, surrounded by snow and the fear of sliding to your death. She was the middle of the winter pup, born with 5 other siblings. She remembered shivering whenever the wind changed direction, sending snow into the warm dens. It seemed after two weeks, a few of the little moving body next to her stopped moving. When she was able to start walking, she learned that her mother's pack was a small one that rarely caught anything.
Her siblings starved or froze to death, leaving only 3 of the 6 alive, because her mother had to leave the den to assist the hunting party. Her brothers and herself had to find an edge in the cave that they could huddle up in. Her mother had the coat of a snow fox with light brown markings that matched Shaded's markings, but she never knew her father. When Shaded Gold became an adolescent and was able to leave the cave without the fear of freezing to death being that high, she was never greeted or told which of the two males in the pack were her father. Now that she was older, she knows her chances of finding her father would even lower since it was an out-of-pack breeding.
She had to endure periods of time where everyone was starving horribly, barely able to catch anything before somehow one of the hunters take down a single deer. The pack's morale was low and the hunting pack always fought between themselves due to their different personalities. When she tagged along on those hunting trips for the first time, she could see why the pack was starving most of the time. Their bickering caused potential prey to run away, which would cause even more bickering or even cause a full-on fight. So she decided to go on hunting trips alone so she could actually learn something and also bring back enough food to keep herself and her brother from starving.
When she became an adult, she was a semi-experienced hunter, like her brother. Both of the brothers had a calling in hunting, but the youngest was told to be the pack's herbalist. The youngest went against their mother's command and shadowed the first hunting pack and got torn apart by a bear while their mother watched. Shaded and her remaining brother were kicked out of the pack and that is how she started Lake Howlers.
She was wandering around in the mountains until she fell asleep. She awoke to be woken up by a black wolf. [Insert Tutorial] She befriended a female wolf who has white eyebrows on a grey body. Her first winter with her pack went smoothly, having two pups. She gathered more wolves and formed a hunting party, which to the present day has reached maxed exp and has most likely been switched out for their children who will carry on their legacy. She switched to a forest, leaving the mountains roughly in the fall.
Her second winter was utter hell. Just a few days before winter, she sold her extra meat and amusement items for extra SC to the raccoon then the hardest winter in the area happened. All of her pack were starving, pups that were born in the snow survived long enough to be weaned before being killed by a random animal. The hunting party was struggling to bring in enough, she was struggling to bring in any amusement items and the pack's morale was getting low. While she watched her pack start to get torn apart, a few were talking about leaving. She then got in contact with a smaller pack and got some food/amusement items for a cure.
She now has a successful hunting pack, a line of new pups who will keep the pack going when the adults are unable to do much.
