Deep in the heart of the Glacier, a single wolf pup was born into a pack of powerful magic users. He was the sole heir of the Lunar line and was destined to become the Grand Icemage. At first, his quick progress showed great promise. However, as time went on, there were doubts. The current Grand Icemage, Zentaro, knew there was something amiss about Akito. Something almost unforgiveable. After all, a single pup was a sign of bad luck. He wasn't as strong as the other pups either. To top it all off, this single pup did not possess any traits of the Lunar line; the trademark Selene spots and Lunar claws could not be found anywhere! On the day of Akito's sixth month of life, Zentaro's concerns would be confirmed...and Akito would pay the ultimate price.
On the day of the Blue Moon Festival, Akito was preparing to accept his powers in front of not only his pack but the other magic wielding packs as well. However, as he recited the ancient, generational chant, nothing happened. Not a speck of Lunar dust fell onto him. The festival erupted into bewilderment and outrage. Akito stood there, unsure about what was going on. Where were his powers? The spirits of the Blue Moon? The new adolescent didn't have time to think before he heard a furious snarl. Whipping his head around, the young wolf noticed his father, Zentaro, giving him an ice cold glare as he approached him.
"W-Why isn't it working?! I-I'm supposed to gain my powers, right Father...?" Akito asked, before Zentaro gave him a response that shattered his heart.
"YOU ARE NO DAMN SON OF MINE!" Zentaro howled before slamming his paw down. As he slammed down his paw, the other Icemages started to chase Akito. The pup's eyes widened as the wolves he once considered family pursued him in bloodlust. He ran as fast as he could, trying to avoid the gnashing teeth and magical onslaughts. However, no matter where he turned, there were more wolves after him slewing all sorts of names towards him. One of them hurt more than the others; darksign. Akito ran through every crevice and hole he could find, but the others were still close behind. Finally, a part of the glacier started to crack before collapsing, separating the adolescent from his attackers. What was supposed to be a day of ceremony instead was the day Akito became an exile. He was nothing, even to his own father.
For the next six months, Akito lived in the mountains of the lower valley in complete isolation. During that time, he believed that he thrived as an exile. However, when he was a young adult, all of his previous beliefs were shattered. He came across a travelling wolf by the name of Ignis. She was quite strange looking to him; her fur was warm and almost reminiscent of fire. She spoke about her previous pack and how lonely it was exploring by herself. At that moment, Akito empathized with her. He recognized the struggles she went through. Finally, he asked if he could join her and she rejoiced at the offer. Soon, Akito would start a new life and pack with Ignis; the Icefang Pack.
