The wolf-dog hybrid braced against the rain, holding a skinny rabbit in her jaws. "Fae! Fae, are you here?" She cried, thunder splitting the air.
"In here, Gula!" An exasperated cry returned. Gula squinted through the thundering rain, spotting a small white flash under a tangled mess of roots.
She let out a small sigh of relief, and bolted towards her love. She squeezed past a root, falling into the pseudo-cave next to her mate. "Are you alright dear?"
The once-pregnant black and white wolf licked her tiny pup, "We're okay."
Gula pressed her head against her mate's head. "We gotta find a new place. We can't make a life here. Our pack would be safer in the Deciduous Forest."
