Rye

A reserved and levelheaded but very kind wolf, Rye was born a princess of the Golden Fields Pack. After a series of misfortunes befell the formerly-illustrious pack, the consequent rising tensions and lack of members caused it to disband. Being royalty, Rye took it as her duty to set off to create her own kingdom, her childhood friend and basically-lover Maple coming along with her. Though it was a harsh winter journey, with pups unexpectedly on the way, the pair managed to settle into a deciduous forest with the help of a friendly wolf named Tala just as new leaves were beginning to appear on the trees. Recalling the way the sun would shine through the leaves of the few trees that there were back in the grasslands, Rye decided to name the newfound pack the Dappled Shade Pack, as a reminder that light can pierce even the darkest shadows.
