Nova leads you into the pack camp, a dark, small cave entrance underneath a crag of rock, wagging her tail as she greeted her beta and mate with a touch to her nose.
Nova turns around and sits, "Now, you cannot stay forever, Traveler, but you may stay here for a few nights. Listen to our pack stories, how we came to be...Please enjoy your stay before you leave."
"I do want to tell you about the ways of our pack, before you continue on." She first nods towards an area where a few pups are playing, a wolf that looks almost like a shadow (only evident that they're a wolf by their bright green eyes) watching them play, "None of our pups get names until they're ready to train, so we just give them nicknames until they're old enough, once they are, we name them based on their attributes, be it appearance, physical ability, mental ability, or personality."
"The pupsitter over there-- Eclipse, yes, the one watching them play," she glances at him, "He is a valued member of our pack, he takes care of our pups, and this is is wish. He helps out around the cave a lot too, rebuilding nests, organizing our prey pile, and taking care of others...I hope he finds another wolf to help him out one day, it's a lot for one to do."
She then nods towards her mate, "Scouts in our pack are the only ones eligible to become betas, because it symbolizes how they've moved up in the ranks from being hunters of the pack. In this case, my beta is also my mate-- a normal occurrence, but mates can come from any rank in the pack. She also happens to double up as a scout. Hopefully if our pups prove themselves as hunters she can train one to become a fellow scout like her."
Nova looks over to the den area where a few wolves are lying down and chatting, they glance at you and then glance back, continuing to talk. Perhaps lost travelers are more common than you once thought them to be??
"That group is our hunters, they provide food for our pack, as you may have guessed," she chuckled, "They always come back with many...intriguing stories from their hunts. Sometimes I wonder if they're actually hunting out there but, I trust them to bring back food when it's most needed."
"Everyone in our pack are valued members and each contribute something important to our home. Did you come from a pack? Or are you a lone wolf?"
